Interesting photos. The last photo if you look closely there is something that appears to be a dewclaw on the right rear leg. Not sure but I don't think wolves are supposed to have dewclaws on the rear legs.
By the way, Karafuto dogs in Japan have been extinct for a while but recently a few dogs are said to have been imported from Sakhalin by the preservation society of the breed.
