One more reason to leash your dog on walks!

Warning: This can turn brutal...

It's pretty harsh :( [ & could've been easily avoided if the person had leashed their poor dog ] ~

The deer turned on the cat at the end when kitty was being silly and curiously pawed her nose! Though in this case...thankfully, curiousity DID NOT kill the cat. Phew!

Yeah...scary stuff. Though, the dog was very unexpecting/unsuspecting (wasn't even a threat or that close =/, poor doggie, deers are evil)...I totally thought it was gonna be an off-leash dog attacking the deer.

Glad to hear that doggie will be okay, but probably major tramatized by deers now.

Corina --- My guess was it was a Border Collie & went into that "crouching" position they do. Plus, I'm sure Deer have a bigger "Fear" of canines then felines. ~

LOL. That deer reminded me of Leila! LOL

Poor dog got his ass handed to him by a deer.

Thats how mothering does attack coyotes and wolves. Sucks but its only doing what its supposed to do. That dog was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have seen dead coyotes from this type of attack and since that looks like a mule deer doe, they have super sharp hooves to add to that.

Not too smart on the owner to let her dog out near a fawning doe. I'm more scared of mothering does then mountain lions, they are really dangerous. We had one person killed in San Diego by a mule deer a few years back.

@ Gen....EXACTLY! That's what I thought. I mean, if the deer went after my dog, I'd be yelling too, but I'd be yelling at my dog to come. I mean, obviously a mother animal is going to protect its babies. Why would that person let their dog get near a deer with a fawn in the first place? Still glad dog and fawn were ok.

Yep, another good reason to have a dog on the leash.

My GSD got chased by a white tail doe once in Michigan. If she had a fawn, we never saw it, but we saw her in the field, and I called him, but he didn't come--instead he went after her. She let him get close then started running at him, and he looked at the deer, and looked at me calling him, and came running to me with the deer in pursuit. It was pretty funny to watch this lanky half grown GSD being chased by a deer, but I was really glad he didn't get hurt.

This video was a little horrifying for me, because I've had one of my dogs stomped and rolled by a horse before. Luckily, he made it out with only a bruise, but it's just really nerve wracking.

I'm glad that this dog made it out. The cat and baby were really cute together in the beginning, on the up side. ,:D
