Koda's Thread (Pics 12.27)

edited December 2010 in Kai Ken (甲斐犬)
Koda is truly an amazing dog. He is so well behaved. I always say that he was born a two year old. He's so serious about minding his manners, as well as very sensitive to others. He really is just a good dog, and I try not to take that for granted.

Koda is also really handsome in his adulthood. He usually gets compliments wherever we go on his good looks and charm. I don't brag about him and his accomplishments as much as I should.

Here's some pics of "The Prince". I had to tie them up to get shots of them still, so these are a bit redundant.

This is how high up the snow mound that they are on is. That lamp is a little over 10 feet tall.

  • Last pic is so great :D.
  • Yeah, he looks great in the second to last photo!
  • He looks so stoic, I love it. Is this in Tahoe or where you live?
  • He looks great in the snow! Nice shots, it can be hard to take good pics of a black dog in the snow - you did great tho! :o)

Koda sounds like the perfect Kai.
  • Yay, Koda update :) He's such a handsome guy
  • @okiron I live in the Bay Area, Walnut Creek. Koda and I were in Incline Village at the cabin. I wish I lived up there full-time. Koda gets stoic all the time. lol. He also gets proud and regal. He has a very serious look to him.

I do think Koda is perfect. I honestly couldn't ask for an easier dog to have in the home. I could live with 20 of him no problem. (If I had the room.)
  • I know where you live Tara lol. I was just being ambiguous for Google's sake :P
  • I totally forgot. Antonio sent Mei and Koda these awesome leashes. I usually keep pups on 4 foot leads until they are two, but Koda's a good loose leash walker so he has now graduated to his big boy leash thanks to Antonio!

  • Koda's looking so handsome!
  • What a handsome boy!
  • Yay, Koda update :D He's such a beauty Tara, you are really lucky to have him!
  • Koda is so handsome. One of these days I am going to make it out west to meet these two! (And everyone else out there...)

I LOVE all of that snow. We have gotten a lot this year, so far, but it has been in small bursts... a few inches here, a few inches there... But the girls love it, so whatever amount we get is great! But they would be so jealous of Koda and Mei Mei with all of those 10 feet mounds of snow!
  • I am still in love with Koda. It has been a while since we got to see pics of him. He's so handsome as always!
  • @sunyata Come on out! I would be happy to meetup with anyone who wanted to meet Koda. I'll be very honest, it's better to meet Koda outside of his home. He's a hit or miss with people coming into the house. He can act like a total wild animal towards some people for no apparent reason.

He is great with being out though. He's very social, and has learned that humans will give him positive rewards, ie belly or butt rubs, if he leans up against them. Go on a walk with him, and he'll be your best friend for life.

@okiron lol I kind've thought you knew where I lived. Koda's registered on the NAKA website as being in Walnut Creek anyways. It's pretty public knowledge. I do get emails from people who want to meet him. So far no psychos. lol.

We actually met a nice couple that have two Shibas a couple of weeks ago who emailed me. Very nice, but I think the wife was more into switching to Kais than the husband was.
  • He´s so handsome!
He fits that snow perfectly ;)
  • My nephew is looking so grown up. Tora is finally starting to fill out a little.
