Argh, I want to go so bad, but I don't know if I can. I've still got the fuel bill from moving from St. Louis to Oregon to deal with, and the gas for this alone would be an additional $500. I really want to learn to hunt boar and see some dogs in action, but I don't know if I can make this trip. I'll try talking it over with my Mom, but I doubt it's gonna happen.
@shishiinu - Honestly, I'm kinda in-between jobs right now so it's very hard for me to come up with a date as I don't know when my next gig will start. A weekend is probably best for me tho. I think it's best for you guys to plan it and then I will attend if I can, because waiting for me to come up with a date isn't fare for the others. Supposedly my new gig will start in 2 weeks, but we'll see about that.
I'd love to make it if I can. I was supposed to be over there for 3 weeks in June, but looks like I'm getting pushed back to the end of June. I may end up over there for 8 weeks... lol. I'll have weekends off.
Shigeru, when you get out here let me know if you want to do some hunting or some tuna fishing. Not a whole lot to hunt other than hogs but I can get you on some hunts. I'm hoping by end of june the tuna and yellowtail run will be near San Diego so thats also an option.
I'm trying to come up with a creative way to get down there uber cheap. Usually, when I can't afford something, it just means that I'm not trying hard enough to find a cheaper way of doing it, lol. I'm in if I can come up with a way to get there.
Ok so I visited the ranch the other day to check out the place. Great looking place but there's one big problem. This past winter we had a some what wet winter and because of that we have a big problem now with foxtails and other weed seeds that will harm our dogs. I think it would be best to wait a few months until the goats and sheep eat up the weeds or until early fall when its not so bad. I couldn't let taro and yuki run around because of that.
What does every one else think? I could always do a regular spot and stalk hunt so that those interested in filling their freezer can get some good quality meat and learn to hunt.
Currently trying to hit up my brother-in-law who works for westjet for some buddy passes. Failing that... hobos and transients get around somehow, I'm sure I can cook something up, lol.
Okay, so don't plan around me, because I'm not a sure thing by any means, but I start school in September, so before then is better. August 10-14 I'm doing a survival/outdoor camp.
Is this still in the planning stage? If so, I would like to come to watch, maybe hunt, and learn about boar hunting with kishu. No boar dogs yet so it would just be one person...
I am still planning this. Only issue right now is the over growth of foxtails so I'm waiting till early fall when lot of the weeds will be down. Its really bad this year and I'm a little weary on taking the dogs out this summer.
Thanks for bringing it up, I was just about to post some thing up. So the weed growth is still crazy in socal. The ranch is starting to clear out the weeds so I'm going to take a look on the 8th to see if every thing is good. If turns out to be ok, I will plan a training day on a sunday toward the end of august.
Hopefully the weather will be good like it was today :P Or maybe I just felt it was awesome weather since I was in NY for a week and miserable cause it was so hot and not what I'm used to hahah
We definitely would want to join! Is it 18+? Please count two adults and one Shiba...we will just probably spectate though. @shishiinu--THANKS for organizing!!
Yes, as soon as Yuji is born I will be making the arrangements so I'm thinking in a few weeks or so. Ami is already 1cm dialaed so it can be any time now. The area looks good now that the nasty fox tails are gone so things are looking good. Thanks Julie!

@Brad do you have a day that will work the best since you live a little futher away?
@Jesse do you want to hunt with your dog or do you want to come out to watch?
Would love to hunt with the Shikoku, but the better half and Shiba will likely sit back and spectate, and I'm okay with a spectator fee.
