Please note that those words can be different meangs with same pronunciation. For example, Ken means health(健),dog(犬),sword(剣),ticket(券)etc.
And some of the pronunciation is not most widely used one for the Kan-ji(Chinese character) mentioned below.
For example, "海(sea, ocean)" is usually pronounced "Umi" rather than "Kai".

Thank you!
Think I'll use Koro for my male pup, it's a good short name, and he's a little fat boy right now. ;-)
I like Kana and Kumi too, will use these for the female pups.
Wonderful help, thanks again.
You're welcome : )
I think names you choose for pups are very suitable for Japanese dogs.
Best wishes to your beautiful pups!
Kaibutsu: Monster
Kamakiri: Praying mantis
Ken: Sword
Kisaragi: February
Kotetsu: Little Iron
Kurotora: Black Tiger
Kyoshiro: Big white/castle
These are from the manga Ginga Densetsu Weed.
I really like Kyoshiro
I also like Kamakiri, though it is close to harakiri (which as far as I've understood is the japanese form of suicide, where you stab yourself and have someone cut you head off - okay I've seen too many movies!)
