I don't speak English well so I visit Nihon Ken Forum very rare. In my kennel a lot has changed. I would like to show how looks now my "old" dogs and introduse my new dogs.
woa your dogs look very nice. May this belongs to another thread but are there different lines of Hokkaido? I noticed some were more muscular than others and I was just wondering.
Standard Hokkaido in Dokenho is one, but race is not aligned, you can see a few lines (it is also clear from the history of the breed), but aims to standardize the breed. When I was in Nagono on Dokenho exhibition, some breeders said that most dogs most similar to the standard is on the island of Hokkaido. Later, if I learn how to insert pictures on the forum ... I will show how different dogs were on exhibition. Dokenho is a Japanese organization for Hokkaido breeders and owners - their standard is most important for me. I like muskular hokkaidos, but these dogs grow very slow. After 4 years I can say that my Itsu-Hime stoped changing.
Your dogs are amazing! I think I am in love with Kaito. And Fuujin. I would love to see more photos of your dogs. I look forward to the knowledge you can share about the Hokkaido breed.
I wanted dog from beautiful white line and I bought Fuujin because of his mother EZOYUKIHIME WAKKANAI TAKEKATASOU. Lines are common with place from come kennel. I want have Wakkanai Takekatasou blood in my kennel.
Thank you for the extra Kaito photos. I also really like the picture of Kaito and Fuujin running. And that brindle Hokkaido is amazing. She is very striking.
I was wondering what sort of activities you do with your Hokkaido? Do you primarily participate in showing, or do you also participate in other dog activities like agility? Oh, and what are Hokkaido like when it comes to training?
And I echo lindsayt's questions about how your dogs behave with new dogs/strangers.
Edited to add:
I just thought of another question (sorry to be a pest!). I was wondering what sort of health issues are common for a Hokkaido. Are they pretty similar to the issues in other Japanese breeds?

I think I've added the brindle hokkaido to my list of dream dogs to own
Brindle hokkaido looks neat.
