Japanese Fall Festival

Today was the Japanese Fall Festival in Dallas. Toki and I went to hang out at the booth and it was really fun to inform the public about the JA. Here is a few photos summarizing how it went

Mazuki with a shiba from the next booth over, the Shiba rescue.
Mazuki is out of Pat Szymansky (sp?) and is owned by Tim, who also owns Bamboo.

Diesel, the American Akita. He is a champion in the AKC and he has a wonderful temperament.

Bamboo was such an excellent ambassador today. He had a great temperament.

The Tokleton was a grump. He was not very enthused with me dragging him to the festival. He warmed up by the end of the festival though, which was nice. This photo is a fairly accurate depiction of Toki's feelings.

  • Cool! Thanks for sharing. One of these days I'll get myself to an event like this...
  • Great pics! I was hoping to try and make it to the festival, but it didn't work out with our schedules (plus Dallas a good four hours away from where we live, sigh).
  • Awesome pictures
  • Really nice photos! I especially like the first size comparison between the JA and the Shiba (and interesting facial expressions). Diesel the AA looks super plushy too!
  • The first shiba in the photo of both JA and Shiba actually had a fake eye. You can kind of tell; it is the right eye (her right, not photographically). She had glaucoma? Not sure, but both eyes were infected and the doctor was only able to save one. She was really sweet and friendly, though still aloof, which I liked.
  • Interesting! I'd never even considered a fake eye as an option for dogs, but I'm glad to know it's a possibility.
  • It didn't look weird at all. In the sun, it looked as if she might have had a cataract cause of the blueish-ness. Otherwise, she looked absolutely normal.
  • Cool pics, thanks for sharing!
  • Wow great photos, all of the JA are gorgeous, especially Mazuki and the Tokleton! I never knew there were prosthetic eyes for dogs either, that's actually really cool and I almost didn't notice after just glancing at the picture.

I wish we had events like that here in Florida, kind of surprised we don't considering we have the Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens down here in Boca Raton. That bento-to-go looks amazing, now I'm hungry lol.
