JA pup vaccination
My little female JA pup is a little over 9 weeks old, I was told by the ex-owner the pup's second vaccination will be due very soon. She had her first shot when 6 weeks.
What should be the name for the second shot? Thank you!

2nd set: 9 weeks old: DAPP2V+CV + 2nd de-worming (I think).

Don't give rabies at the same time as you're giving other vaccs (when you get to that point).
The way vacc. work is to make the pup immune to such-and-such disease, obviously. BUT... the vacc wont take effect if the mother's antibodies are in the puppy's system, so vets have decided to inform the general public to take a set of 3 or 4 shots to make sure the hit that window. However, you risk over-vaccinating your pup which can lead to other health issues. A better thing to do would to take a titer test to measure the level of antibodies, which would tell you when an effective time to vaccinate would be. This is what I will try to do when I get my next pup, if i can find a titer test in dallas. That is the only issue...they are not very common.
(Instead, I've taken the lazy way out....I figure Toby and Bel who are 7 and 8 years old, have probably had enough to regular vaccs not to need more, esp. true since both have either health issues or have shown reactions to the vaccinations. I will now just give them rabies shots).
I haven't decided what to do with oskar, though, who is 2. I might actually titer test him.
If you scroll down on the form, you'll see it also includes options for titer testing, and everything, really, including Von Willebrands (not than NKs need that test much, but for awhile I thought of doing it on Oskar when he had some bleeding issues).
The nutriscan is pretty cool, and I might be willing to try one test, because $130 is worth it to me, vs. 12 weeks of an elimination diet. If I can't figure out what is causing Leo to itch so badly, I might have to consider it!
