my angel american akita
hi I have to ask , I recently read in one of the articles that when a pup burn as longer coats then short coat but not long that is a mistake change their coats to shorter one. does it happen to one of you or hear about it ?
another question , hair in the ears I must say that the longest hair is on the had and the ears are 1 inch hair long , she has like a medium because the long coated brothers of her are much more bigger and has a much more fur , but she has longer coat then her short brothers

as I said before I just want to know more about the breed that's all .
You know the difference by looking at the coat. Its very simple. Long coat: significantly much longer fur. Probably much more soft as well. Look at the littermates to compare.
(Hint, you have a short coated puppy)
you can tell when they are even pup.
Congratulations! I hope your show goes well.
I always notice the "trimming" when they're puppies. Long haired dogs, as puppies, don't cut as "clean" of an appearance, imo. They're more "clumpy" and marshmallow-like.
My Malamute had a couple long haired siblings and you could tell the difference between them and the standard fuzzy puppy coats because they were much denser as puppies.
http://nicholescritters.homestead.com/malcolorgeneticsCoatLength.html This is an example for Malamutes. I know the coat texture is a little different, but I think the general how-to on differentiating standards from long coat may still apply.
A long coated puppy with puppy coat will still jave a much more significantly fuzzier and longer length than a short coated puppy coat. Your dog is still a short coat.
