Yay! Katana photos! He's looking good. I like how when I look at Katana photos and then look at Meitou I can see the differences in their faces. I have family who kind of laugh when I mention the similarities and differences between Meitou and his brother, because to them they don't seem to see the differences and they usually say, "But they all look the same..."
Here's some pictures from the drive home from Arizona.
This is somewhere north of Flagstaff Arizona. Katana bounced off a ways out of sight for a bit but came back relatively quickly when I hollered at him.
This is where we stopped for a game of fetch and to have dinner, just over the Arizona/Utah border.
Frosty foggy morning in Nevada. Katana thought the frozen mud was very interesting.
Somewhere in Oregon. Dogs figuring out how to get past the cattleguard. Juneau flew over it, Conker went under it, Sasha was smart and went around it, and Katana screamed at us until I pelted him with snow, then he clambered over.
Not pictured is where he went "hunting" in Utah and fell off a cliff. Lucky for him it was a relatively small cliff that, with some effort, he could climb back up on his own.
WOW- some nice shots, Pam! I love him leaping through the yellow grass and how much color there is the land in the second pic. Katana's growing up well!
Katana is growing nicely!! I can see him start to fill out a little! I'm glad he's doing well and that his manners are improving! Do you take him to a class? What have you taught him so far?
I haven't taken him to a class. So far he knows to come, sit, and shake, which he translated into beat mercilessly with his paws when he is trying to get my attention. He'll stop barking if I ask him too, but he still screams a bit when I leave. He is polite with strange people unless he gets hyped up then he'll start trying to "shake" by whapping them with his feet. He's learned some basic manners like don't jump up unless asked, don't rush out the gate, don't bite people, don't steal from other dogs, and how to greet another dog politely. He doesn't quite grasp the concept of personal space though, and is always getting snarked at from the other dogs when he lays all over them.

Meitou is the same way. "Personal space? Wuzzat? Imma be right here by your face, staring into YOUR SOUL." And then when my Border Collie gives him a correction his response is akin to: "Oh, joy! Now we're playing!" And he play bows and bounces and is happy. Even when she continues to shark him. He's way over-the-top and rough when he plays, too.
@Losech Ah, Katana sounds so cute (but I can say that because he's not breathing in my ear). Currently my kitchen and one of my bathrooms are under renovation due to a bad dishwasher leak (and other issues found after reno started) so my kitchen is all blocked up and tarped up. So I have to go outside and into the garage to get the dog food (the raw portions of dinner and breakfast). While I was in the garage getting their dinner I could hear him howling forlornly. I told him to be quite because I hadn't actually gone anywhere cool without him and he kept at it until he heard me coming back to the front door. When I came in with the fish he started doing his happy "fish! fish! dinner!" dance. Amusing, yet eye-roll-inducing also.
Luckily he doesn't always cry when I leave him, and when he does he usually calms down pretty quickly afterward (per family member witness) unless I took the old dog on a walk by herself. Then he is pretty ramped up until I get back.
Great pictures of Katana (and photobombing Conker)! Love Katana's expression in the photo where he's lifting his leg to pee, lol.
Meitou hasn't chewed out Chuck-it, but I forgot I had it so it's been tucked away in hiding for most of his time with me. So he hasn't had a chance to do anything to it.
Katana was about to bite Juneau's neck in this shot. He only does it during fetch, and I suspect he picked it up from Conker (he learns incredibly well from observation, which is both a good and bad thing.) That is a very bad habit that we are working on. If he keeps it up he will not be allowed to play fetch with Juneau anymore since he not only bites but hangs on as well. Conker just bites, not grabs, but it's still a dumb thing to be doing, and I'll pull him out of the game if he does it.
I have to throw it before you can fetch it Katana.
Investigating a kitty tower.
Heeeey.
Can I come on the bed?
Please?
I swear Conker creeps in the background of at least 1/3rd of Katana pictures.
Bella my parent's boxer has an obsession with beer.. crazy dog. She ran off with my brother's beer once. luckily it wasn't open and it was outside so when she dropped it when I said drop it the beer was intact. lol
Creepin' Conker is great. And great Katana shots! I love the "Please?" photo. Soooo cute!
Whenever I'm out walking in the evening on the days when people put out their garbage/recycling, Meitou feels like it is his duty to check out all the beer bottles or wine bottles people put out.

I'm glad to see new Katana pics! He's super cute.
Here is a silly picture of us.
It was actually a really bad color photo, but I screwed with it in photoshop and made it a bit more acceptable.

Yay! But I have only seen him do it a few times...
Look what he did to my ChuckIt! Luckily it still works, but I have to hide it now or he'll munch on it.
Conker-derp background photobomb.
