A little excitement after being bedridden for a week!

Tonight, after enduring OVER A WEEK of kidney stones... Yes, it was just lovely. I finally had the time to invite our real estate agent over to take a look around our house and recommend a price. Now, we've had the same agent since the first house we bought, family friend, great guy, not at all sales-man-like, and a pleasure to work with.
Well, he knocks on the door, I let him in and all of a sudden Mylie let's out this deep, quiet growl and her hair stands on end... It was nothing like I've ever seen from her before! She meets new people ALL the time and loads them up with kisses! So, I show her everything is okay by letting the real estate agent give Mylie a treat. She still skeptical. While we walk through discussing the house, Mylie is at my side, and lets a quite the bark if he gets too close to me. She was being overly protective, I've never ever seen her like this before, it was so strange, yet comforting to witness.
15 minutes or so pass and my fiance comes home. All of a sudden, Mylie stops being so vocal, seems a bit more relaxed but is STILL at my side. She did ultimately go over and introduce herself to the real estate agent, and eventually bowed to him and wagged her tail anticipating play. Like everyone else he couldn't get enough of her and respected her for being so protective.

Weird! My dogs have been creeped out by people for no apparent reason... makes me wonder if they know something I don't. This sort of reminds me of a friend of mine who was a missionary in the Philipines for two years. They eat dog over there sometimes, and he was fed dog meat at someone's house, and he said for a while after that, every single dog he saw growled at him. Somehow they knew!

Sasha is the same way. She is worse when Chad is not home. When talking to our behaviorist about it he says it is because the pup doesnt see you as a pack leader and they feel that they have to protect us because we cant protect ourselves. I dont care. I have them to protect me when Chad is gone (not anywhere near the main reason, I get lonely!).
Only once has Niko growled at someone, normally she is psycho greeter. When she growled and didnt welcome them, I didnt care what, something was not ok with this person. If Niko doesnt love you, you are seriously not ok. (in my house)

She probably was extra protective because you have been sick. My dogs guard me when I am sick. It is sweet.

Jessica, I was wondering the same thing. Mylie has been super sweet since I have been home sick, and has spent many days at my side in my bed which she NEVER does.
