Ninja, Sasuke, Yokie(RIP), and Sushi pictures

edited February 2009 in General
I took a few pictures of Sasuke and Ninja when I was at my parents place. I know Sasuke has his own thread already but all the pictures makes the thread inconsistent IMHO, so I'll share their pictures here :) I'm going to try to take a photography class so I can take awesome pictures >:)

They look like a powerful pair, I see it in their eyes! They are adorable together.

By the way, do they like to go swimming in the pool?

No, they do not go swimming the in the pool. I think we introduced Ninja incorrectly to the pool because she is afraid of being in it. When we used to put her in, she would swim to the nearest boogy-board and just chill until she reached the steps. She would go swimming at ponds and the beach though. Sasuke, on the other hand, is afraid of the water. We took him to the dog park where a lot of dogs were swimming.. He was the only one outside the pond barking at the sticks thrown inside rather than jumping in. I have talked to the office if they have ever seen a Shiba Inu in the pond... she replied, "I have not seen a Shiba come back wet."

Which is a real shame because Ninja would go swimming next to us when we go kayaking in the springs or at the beach she is very buoyant and would sometimes not paddle while she drifts next to us. I should get photos of that actually.. we've never had any pictures because cameras and water do not mix well.

So I was going to go hiking but....

    :(

Turns out it was just a controlled brush fire. It was really disappointing because I drove so far just to find the trail on fire.

Whoa! But what an awesome picture that is!

Where do you hike Joe? I go to a place near Wekiva Springs [ Altamonte ] & I remember for like...two miles of the trail it was all BURNT! It was crazy, & eerie. ~

Check out this video! It's hard or me to believe since both my shibas HATED the water.

Lol, sry about the quality of the pic though. We had to use a camera phone.. my camera is acting weird and I need to buy another... tax return :)

This was at San Felasco in Gainesville. I wish they distributed a notice or something in the news or radio. Anywho, after we found this, we traveled a few miles to find Devil's Millhopper an awesome sinkhole with a waterfallesque view once you travel 120ft to the bottom of the sinkhole. I only took one good picture of Sasuke:

Kind of hard to imagine this doggy is so aggressive.

Wow, that's an interesting vid, Felicia. Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out a way to make Sasuke do that so we can all go kayaking together. We're actually going to go to Ft. Desoto, a beach that has a sectioned off area for off-leash dogs. I'm going to see how Sasuke does when he follows Ninja around.

We had to put Yokie to sleep on Saturday. She was 17 years old! We found her on Halloween a few years ago. Someone came walking around, ringing every door bell, and asking if the dog belonged to us. She said she couldn't keep it because she had two big dogs at her house already, so my mom took her in. I immediately made fliers and posted them all over the neighborhood. When no one claimed her, we decided to keep her.

She started having several seizures and continued to bump into things such as walls and table legs. She also forgets to turn sometimes so she would walk straight into the pool. Her last seizure was pretty bad. I was so frightened and did not know what to do. After 30 seconds or so, she came forth and pooped on her pillow. We knew it was her time to go. Here are some pictures of her (I do not have a lot of pictures on my computer, but my sister has plenty).

    RIP Little One.

We buried her in a treasure box lined with velvet and our pictures in our backyard. We each shoveled two piles of dirt on top of her. It was really nice.

edit: I forgot to mention that we also bought her a new dress from build-a-bear, which was her style. We always buy clothes for her there.

    Awww, RIP Yokie.

How are Ninja and Sasuke taking it? Give them hugs and kisses from the Fontaine Gang!
  • edited November -1
I'm not sure how Ninja is taking it. I had to leave to go back to Gainesville right after. Sasuke never really knew her. He would bully her around by nipping at her ears. My sister's cat would also pounce on her. She had a lot of spunk though and wasn't afraid of barking back!

She used to bark at Sushi a lot, but they ended up sleeping together after we left them alone for awhile.

I'm sorry to hear that. 17 years is a good long life for a dog. It sounds like you gave her a wonderful resting place.
