Kiya wont sleep through night

edited June 2009 in General
Hey all been a while since ive posted sorry for that. Any ways Kiya will be 1 year old next month, and she still wont sleep through the night. We take her for an hour walk everynight and we let her go out side and run around and alot of times while shes out i play fetch with her and shes got fetch, bring it back, drop it, and leave it down perfectly. We let her play with our other dogs as well. She just wont sleep through the night. Any suggestions as to how to fix would be great.

Where does she sleep? What does she do when she wakes up? Does she wake up at the same time each day?

She sleeps in the floor next to my bed. She starts to very high pitched yalp/bark scratch and or nibble on my fingers. And no she doesnt wake up at the same time everyday, she wakes up between 2 and 5 never around the same time

Does she wake up to go potty or just to wake up?

Where is she during the day?
    How long are her walks?
Or does she just get yard time?

Perhaps you should take her out a little earlier so she has more time to unwind. Or just have her pee, not play at night, and make the play time earlier.

how do you respond to the yelping and nibbling?

she wakes up to go potty. During the day she is in her large kennel. She is in her kennel a lot during the day because no one is home to watch her. Her walks range from 1-2 hours depending on what is going on that night, and she has a lot of yard/play time.

The nibbling is like her way to say "hey im awake" she nibbles like 2 times then stops and the yelping starts and doesnt stop until i wake up.

Maybe try picking up her water at like 9pm so that way she doesn't fill her bladder before bed time?

you may also want to consider enrolling her in doggy day care one or two times a week to help her blow off a little more steam.
I also totally agree with Kristin, about taking up her water bowl at 9 maybe even 8pm.

Or during hot muggy times you can replace a full water bowl at night with a few ice cubes
