Today we had another show. It was Kuma's last show as a Junior, and he got the best Junior and best of breed this morning. We came home since the show was close enough, and made it back at around 3pm, when the finals were supposed to start but after a bit of being there, they announced that they were delaying the finals until 4:30pm, because of the heat, considering the well being of the dogs. We decided to wait for it, but after a while it was just impossible to keep it up so we came back home. It was taking quite a toll on Kuma, and even on us, and it wasn't worth it. No show is.
It was intriguing though to see people letting a Flat Coated Retriever and a French Bulldog run around in the sun when it's 100F outside. There were a few more, but these are the ones I remember because they were the ones that shocked me more.
Today was the first of the two days of the Lisbon show. It was the first time Kuma entered not being a Junior, he was in Intermediate class (from 15 to 24 months). There were another 3 Akitas, all in Open class, and all older than him. He was first in his class (he was the only one) and then went on to face the two best males of the Open. He got 3rs overall. Here's some spam
Waiting to get in the ring
Showing for the judge
The judge seemed amused about Kuma's attempt to get the treat
The "competition" :-) 1st, 2nd and 4th
Kuma vs the winner
We came home and tried Kuma's new body cooler bandana on (it really seems to have the capacity to help with the heat)
It was the second day of the Lisbon show and Kuma got best of Intermediate class and Reserve Best Male overall, out of the same 4 males of yesterday! He also got the Reserve CAC and CACIB. Then we took the chance to get his eyes checked by the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology, for congenital and hereditary problems, and he has perfect eyes!

Happy birthday!!
We're all going to spoil him a little more than usual, I promise!
Kuma sleeping (well, after I got laid down on the floor to snap this, not so much) I was goofing around with some long(ish) exposures
Saturday it was very hot, so I went to get the fan. The kids were very curious about it.
And a pretty Nyxie photo
Great job at the show, Kuma! Too bad it got so hot! But 100F is ridiculous!
"Kuma, come!"
"I'm bored, can we go for a walk?"
A couple of portraits

Going around with the two best of Open class
Rui- you didn't have to take him to the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology, I could've told you he has perfect eyes! Perfectly cute :P
Happy Kuma!
