How do I get this puppy home??

I was hoping you guys could offer me some advise on the best (least stressful) way to get my newest pack member home., from B.C. to Wi. I know many of you have driven long distances with a puppy and some have had your puppy flown in. Map quest shows travel time to be 33 hrs.(that's a long time for a new puppy and a weary driver) What would you do?

I would ship her, it's a really short flight and she will be very young (8 weeks) so I don't think it will really do any damage.

We drove to get Ahi and she did great on the ride back but it is a hell of a drive that involves ferries and crossing the US boarder.

Whenever our next pup is ready to be taken home, I'm planning to fly out myself to pick it up, then fly back with it as a carry on (most airlines want the carrier and dog to be 15lbs tops). Of course, this depends on everything falling into place, otherwise I would probably just have the pup shipped to me. Anything over 15-20hrs would make for a weary driver!

I had Himiko shipped from Katjas to Boston MA. It was fine. She was fine. And it was only a few hundred dollars as opposed to the cost of a roundtrip flight which at the time was over a thousand.

I had Koda shipped from Michigan to California. He did well and showed no signs of stress when he got here.

We had both of our dogs shipped. Ungud (Toshi) flew from Frankfurt, after being driven there from Poland, and he did amazing. Although, he isn't afraid of anything, he bonded to me right away and seemed very happy when I picked him up at the airport cargo. So far, he's been next to one of us all the time after the first day he was playing with Kaia. I would think a long drive would be more stressful on the dog. At least I know it would have been for Kaia, as she gets car sick after 20 or 30 minutes.

My dog was shipped from Indiana to California. She was pretty brave, very happy to see me even though we've never met. She was also very playful and didn't seem to get car sick or anything. So because of this positive experience I would recommend shipping the puppy.
