I had 1 border collie for a year before I got a second one (I know, not shibas, but very very high energy dogs), and was amazed - AMAZED at the difference having another like-energy dog made. They would run eachother around, chase, race back and forth, go for the ball, etc. I mean, he was able to do so much of the real running he wanted to do , with a dog that could keep up with him. I did have a schnauzer originally with the border collie, but she wasn't as active...so being at the same activity/play level was important.
He def has hight energy, way more energy than I have, so a friend to play with would be good. OR would they be trouble together? That's my concern that they might tag team chewing on my carpet or the edge of my couch pillow. AHHA He needs a friend though, so I think we'll have a play date and see what happens.
I love the border collie. I remember my uncles border, the dog would grab a hold of his pant leg, near his foot and pretend to wrestle with it while he walked, growling the whole time. It was the funniest thing!
Did any of you from NM get the snow? We got a nice spring snow here in the Springs.
Brandon, after seeing your shiba on the couch and his pink nails, I took a closer look at King. He has the pink nails too and they really look so much alike.
Oh very nice Brad, and the one that I'm thinking about adopting looks just like the little black and tan one! They look like best friends. I'll find pictures of him to post, who knows, if I don't take him maybe someone else will be interested.
Kereco; I am in Las Cruces, NM, an hours drive from El Paso, TX. I am on the west side of the Organ Mountains which is the first range of Mountains just west of the Sacramento range where Ruidoso is. So basically I am in a high desert of 4000 ft, to get to Ruidoso I would drive through the McGregor Range/White Sands to Alamogordo, and then on up into the 8000ft level. It is an amazing change within an hours drive NorthEast from me.
Here is a site to see the actual mountain range above my valley. They are the Organ Mountains. There are tons of pics in there to enjoy.
We did not get any snow this year at all, and very little precipitation, but a ton of wind. It seems the winds here will not slow down until May. Then it will be 100+ out there.
Oh my gosh! Those are some of the most beautiful pictures. I'll spend more time looking through them this evening, are you the photographer? When we went to Ruidoso, we stayed in Roswell and then rode to Carlsbad for the day. That was beautiful.

Also, I think this will help convince you to get another Shiba:
