Health Results on Imported Shikoku?

My husband and I are leaning towards the idea of importing a Shikoku (though it would probably be easier to buy from in North American), but I was curious to know from others who have imported Shikokus, did you get your dogs' health testing done?
I know in Japan, they don't require it to be done, but has anyone who has imported done them and ever gotten bad results back? I was just curious to know the likely-hood of getting a pup with any issues.

I think all the shikoku health issues are covered in rather full color and four-part-harmony in the Forum here if you search- watch for hips and neurological problems. But go read it yourself for full details and perspectives to decide if the risk and cost are worth it to import based on your own situation.
