Loa is sick. :o(

She got sick in her crate last night, and then had some very loose stool... We noticed it had a bit of blood in it too.

So we took her to the vet - she has a GI Bacterial Infection... so she is on some new meds.

Poor little thing. :o(

Oh man Brad, you guys are getting hit from all sides right now. :-(

Poor Loa, luckily that's relatively easy to fix with some meds and TLC. I'm sure guys have enough to go around. ;=)

    Hugs to Loa!

    Metronidizol?

Ronan and Tasha were both on it this year for suspected Guiardia. We didn't have the vet check specifically for it because it's hard to detect. But, it's really going around. We just agreed to call it K9 Flu. Hope in Loa's sake it's just a backyard delicacy. Our vet said that rabbit poop has caused a lot of dogs GI upset, too. I'm with tsukitsune - maybe one of you should have become a vet.

I'm so sorry to hear Loa is sick, and I'm really sorry you guys are at the vet's office so much lately.

    Feel better, Loa!

Jeepers, when it rains it pours.

    I am so sorry.

Hopefully this is the end of the bad mojo and you are on your way to an upswing...

Yep, she is on Metro, and two other drugs. Whatever she has, the name started with an "S". We do have some rabbits around here... but we think she got it from boarding. :o\

And if it couldn't get anymore hectic... it looks like Kona and Hilo might have it now too! Super!

lol... oh well, we will deal with it. The good news is Loa is clearly already feeling batter.

I guess that's the thing about owning lots of dogs. You're more likely to have a sick one at any given time. Glad she's better, though!

Sorry to read she's sick and that Kona and Hilo might have got it.
But it's good that she's getting better already.
I agree with Heidi, the more dogs you have the bigger the chances something is going to happen. Wishing you guys a hefty amount of good luck!

Yep. Sounds like the K9 flu. It passes in a few days. Ronan got it, then Tasha. Nothing they ate stayed in (ewww!). I learned to sprint for the door to let them out whenever they paced, lest I find a mess, or heard that horrible wretching sound. Went through lots of paper towels and carpet cleaner. By the third day, they were acting their normal selves, but I was still on poop patrol for a week in the yard to make sure things were checking up. I've heard loads of dog owners tell me their dogs came down with the 'bug.' Just hope Ahi doesn't get it, poor baby girl.

P.S. It's interesting to hear how the Akitas will tolerate snuggling, but that's it, while Loa (same dad as Ronan for everyone else), is very affectionate - same as Ronan and his brother Tenji.
