Orijen as a treat?

Hachi has made a successful transition from grain to grain free food. This week I'll be trying to transition the other two pups to grain free as well.

We chose Wellness Core to ease the transition to a higher protein, going from 22% to 34%, as suggested by the nutritionist helping me out.

We also bought a small bag of Orijen Adult Formula to try in case Hachi didn't do well with the Core. So now we have this bag of food...

Is it a good or bad idea to maybe use the orijen kibble as a treat?? It smells so fresh and all the dogs are drawn to it.. including picky Hachi.

I have used it as a training treat with my dogs because they love it so much and have used it with the shelter dogs too. I see nothing wrong with it.

I think that it is a good idea.

    Great idea.

When Ronan was going through puppy class and trying to pass his CGC I used Evo as he didn't want anything to do with cheese or hot dog pieces and bringing cut up steak wasn't really allowed (too messy).

Another owner was intrigued, and really surprised when he found out it was nothing more than kibble.

I think it's a good idea to. I've always been giving Kuma his kibble as a treat as I think it's better that any treat I could find (commercial). The only thing better I give him, while training recall, is cooked chicken. (I think that's one of the reasons he has a fairly good recall).
