um whats with the (I know I know)? what wrong with dog in front seat.
  • edited November -1
Dogs should NEVER be in the front seat because if an air bag deploys your dog is dead.
A dog should be HARNESSED in the back seat.

The airbag can really hurt a dog. It's better that you use a seat harness in the middle or back seat for their safety and yours.

and not to mention it is incredibly distracting along with the severely unsafe factor of a loose dog in the front seat..

LJ - I'm glad to hear of how far Jazz has come, it gives me hope with Hachi!!

I was riding along two days ago and saw this guy that had two Malinois (sp?) with him. I let the window dow and told him that his dogs were very cute. This motorcycle rode past and the Malinois went insane. One was trying to jump out of the window and the other was jumping in the front seat. Thankfully, we were sitting still. Had that happened while he was driving - it easily could have resulted in a wreck. Had they been harnessed or crated - there wouldn't have been a problem.

Jen, thanks! There is definitely hope for Hachi! Maybe now my fears about setting Jazz back with the addition of a 2nd dog makes a little more sense. I think she's done remarkably well so far.

oh LOOSE no never, but roxy will only ride in the front seat if there is no one in the back seat, I keep her leash and put the leash *it a retractible one* handle through the E-brake and lock it so she can only be in the seat or on the floor *she sleeps on the floor not the seat*.
  • edited November -1
The leash is attached to a harness right?
  • edited November -1
I don't know how big roxy is, but I'm sure an excited Joey could engage my e-brake if I tied him to it. She should be in the back seat attached to the seat belt. After all, it is a restraining device, that's what its designed for.
  • edited November -1
ya no she couldn't engage it not because of her size but because she doesn't get excited in the car
  • edited November -1
You would be amazed. Put her in the back seat. Moto rarely gets excited in the car and STILL managed to jump from the back seat into the front and broke my $300 key off in the ignition WHILE I was driving.

LJ - I think she's done remarkably well considering her past, her present issues and the time frame from meeting fletch to now! Definitely keep us updated!!

Will do! I can't wait to get home and see how things went with my brother today.

OK...I know we are off topic but I am late. Can I say how adorable my dogs are? They were looking at me funny when I saw the pics (can we say high pitch squeals of"look at my babies...!"). LOL I just get so excited with pics of Sasha because she is scared of the camera and it is rare to get a good pic. Niko is Niko...
Jazz was very good with my girls but there were other dogs that just ran right to her to sniff and she got caught off guard a lot. Sasha did so good and left our side a lot. As you see she is not glued to me!
I love Jazz and her priss butt!

BTW Fletch is too cute and well behaved!! Poor guy is limping thought...
    : (
  • edited November -1
Fletch is limping? Oh no. :-( Unfortunately, I know a really good canine orthopedic specialist.

On a lighter note, here's a good one of Sasha:

    THATS MY BABY!!!!
Chad had me on speaker phone today and she was freaking out, howling, barking whining...
    Tell me she isnt pit!
  • edited November -1
    Rachael, she isn't pit. :-P

That's a beautiful shot of Sasha!

Fletch has been limping (back left leg) since I picked him up. I've tried (to no avail) to get in touch with his previous owner to question or at least to find out if she's taken him to the vet.
