Akita + Shikoku speed painting

edited August 2008 in General
So, I got bored this morning, I needed to brush off my watercolouring work, because i've been lazy all summer.

So, I painted an Akita Inu and a Shikoku Ken for a few hours. 8) And of course, you can tell who the models are. ( Hope you don't mind, Brad! )

And sorry, the scan is ... terrible. It really doesn't do this any justice. :0 No matter how sloppy of a painter I am.

And heres a quick, 30 minute Shiba I painted months ago in school.

    These are awesome Steph!

Have you ever played the game Okami? The entire game is about a Wolf God who runs around Japan restoring balance to it. Anyway, the whole game is meant to like like a japanase brush painting & these remind me of it a lot :D

You can see some of the art here.

There are also Shiba & Kai Ken that wonder around in the game haha :D

Of course I have! :3 I've had it since it came out on the PS2. Probably one of the best games for PS2.

The painting style used in the game is Sumi-e. The characters and backgrounds have thick brushstrokes.

lol I agree it's an awesome game :D I spent hours in Photoshop Trying to make a brush that matched the style >_>

I actually waited for it to come out on Wii before I bought it xp [ Don't you love all the Shiba running around? I love to have Amaterasu picl them up & walk around with them :O ] ~

I liked having Ammy bite them and make them chase her. 8) But, they're super cute.
