    Very true. About the minerals/phos and calcium. Regulating giant/large breed diet during the early years of most rapid growth (0-2 years) is essential to avoid throwing off their movement and disrupting proper joint formation. That's why, I am guessing, most large breed commercial puppy kibbles have lower mineral contents to control the rate of bone growth. So, it sort of makes sense that your breeder says not to regularly feed raw meat/bones to your livestock gaurdian. I don't know about feeding vermin though, mice carry some parasites and viruses.
