Wow, I just looked up Alberta's symbols and I didn't know most of these:
Motto: Fortis et liber (Strong and free) Colours: Blue and gold Tree: Lodgepole pine Flower: Wildrose (that I knew) Grass: Rough Fescue (an official grass?!) Stone: Petrified wood (wtf?) Mammal: Bighorn Sheep FIsh: Bull trout Bird: Great-horned Owl (I have some of those at my place!) Mace: Alberta Mace (I would like to see a picture of this mace...) Gemstone: Ammolite
She doesn't seem to. She was limping once, but we clipped her nails and it went away, so I think her nails were just too long. Clipping her nails is a real ordeal, so I had been putting it off.
Well, I love all colors of Shikoku, but I guess I perfer the Kurogoma. I mean, after all, I requested and picked the darker-coated pup (Kei-kun) over the Akagoma pup the breeder also had available.
I thought about getting a lighter-coated female, but color is no longer gonna be a preference. A good dog is a good dog. So, my next Shikoku is gonna be a surprise! Maybe... ...from what I hear the Akagoma color is quite common in Shikoku litters and the true Kurogoma is supposedly rare -shrugs-. So, based on that analogy, my next pup will most likely be Akagoma.

Wolfs are awesome, but I don't think I could own one:
"Lobo, SIT! Hey, I said sit. Where are you going? Come back here, HIER! Um....okay, down. Nuuuuu!!! Don't eat the cat!" lol...heh -sweat drop-. I have to train everything and everyone -grins-. I'd find a way to train, but would never get the kind of obedience I'd want, only behaviors perhaps. Tee hee. Mained Wolves are kind cool, but I want an (Urocyon littoralis) Island Fox from the local Channel Islands here off California!
I love all species of fox...red fox, bat-eared, fennec, crab eaating, cross...they're all so adorable!!
Of course, colour is not important, personality, temperament & good breeding is foremost, but aesthetics always play a small role, even if it's only 5% ~
