when do puppies start shedding

I was brushing my yorkipoo this morning and Kiyoshi seemed to be getting jealous. so i start brushing him and a lot of fur started coming out. i grabbed the furminator i bought for him and more and more comes out. is he suppose to be shedding like this at 11 weeks or should i just not brush him?

    Puppy shedding is a result both of age and time of year. At 11 weeks, it is possible he is starting to loose some of his puppy coat, particularly on the top of his back. I would not encourage the brushing at this point, unless you are trying to train him to tolerate it. If so, then do avoid the furminator. You will know FOR SURE when it is time to use it. His hair will literally be falling out in clumps.
