Split Paws

I know some of you have had to deal with this before. I just realized Piglet split one of her paws (poor baby just can't catch a break).
How long does it typically take to heal?

I can't seem to put anything on it because she licks it off.
Plus I keep reading that canine saliva has healing properties.

I just hate her suffering. And I want her to feel good and go on walks without limping. I am giving her the night off, but she LOVES going on walks with Moto and Miko. I am just so sad for her.

I am open to suggestions.

Well I'd suggest a booty to cover it for walks, but I remember how that went for her over the winter.

I'd put the Musher's Secret on it right before you head out the door, as it is also supposed to help heal cuts/abrasions, and if she licks it off, no big deal.

Poor girl, wanting to walk has been nothing but trouble for her lately.

She is breaking my heart. I will have to dig out the Mushers Secret. I am pretty sure there is a tub in here somewhere. I was concerned that the Mushers Secret would sting her it has camphor or something tingly in it. I may be able to dig up a booty. My poor little girl.

I swear I would cut off one of my hands for her to be happy and healthy.

Awe. Poor Piggy. I'd put some neosporin on it, wrap it with gauze, then tape (the cast kind, I don't know the name) so she can't get to it. But yes, canine saliva have enzymes that have healing properties, but Mika get's obsessive about 'fixing' her boo boo's, so I wrap it up.

I have put a bootie on her too, but the smart little bugger (Mika) pulls the damn thing off.

When it happenned to Akira I bought baby socks to cover it up and disinfected it everyday and then put a liquid bandage so that dirt does not get into it. It took about a week to heal.

Awww, poor Piggy. I know how you feel. Its tough when your pups have one thing after another keeping them down. Just remember, no matter what happens, you're bringing her back up. :-)

Unfortunately, I don't have any expertise in the paw care department, so I hope my moral support will do the trick.

After Ninja ran away and came back - his paws were all very scraped up and he was limping. I bought Bag Balm and applied it to all his paws. I would do it before a walk and after we got back from a walk. He didn't seem too interested to lick it either. It took about 2 weeks for Ninja to heal up completely. I don't think it's the same as actually splitting a paw though. Get well soon little miss piggy!

She has a followup appointment with her surgeon tomorrow morning. I am going to have him take a look at it. She wanted to go on the walk SO BADLY tonight, that I took her anyway, and she didn't favor the paw at all. But as soon as we came home, she started to whine and limp.

I picked her up. Wrapped her in a blanket and put her on the couch with me where she is snoring deeply.

Actually they are all curled up around the house,
Miko climbed into her play pen on her bed (she LOVES the Kuranda)
Moto is on a sherpa roll in the hall closet (his own little hidey hole)
    And Piglet next to me.
    LOVE...
