Atlanta Meetup

edited October 2008 in Shiba Inu (柴犬)
Here are some of the very few pics that I took. Dave has a lot more. We had several newcomers to our group so that was pretty cool to see some new shibas. Kai is way more reactive than Jazz, but the only dog the Kai didn't react to...was my Jazz. His owner was pretty surprised at that.

One of our members put a pumpkin costume on Jazz - she attacked her bumblebee costume yesterday and ripped the velcro. Jazz just let her.

Thanks for posting LJ. I have 301 shots to sort through and upload (some of).

The big surprise for the day? We got to meet Joey's sister! Her name, coincidentally, is also Lucy. Lucy was from an earlier breeding of Joey's parents. I'm just shocked because Joey's breeder is 900 miles from Atlanta. I'll post plenty of spam of her once I work through the photos, but she looks strikingly similar to Joey, and has a lot in common with Joey behaviorally.

Great pics LJ, looks like the day was really nice - I so wish I could have joined you guys.

Dave - that is crazy! I mean, wow, what a small world - and the name thing - CRAZY!

Wish you could have been there too! It was a wonderful day - I got a little sunburned on my face, which is pretty usual for my pale self, even though I had on sunscreen. Jazz still hasn't moved from her position from when she came in the house last night - even though she doesn't run around, the park itself just tires her (always being on guard). She did remarkably better this time.

Yay Jazz! Such a wonderful looking day for a meetup. I wish we had one in the Boston area.

The closest thing I can find for one in Boston is this one: http://siberianhusky.meetup.com/134/

On their site, they include a lot of the spitz breeds (they do list shiba). Maybe that would work for you.

    great pics!
Dave -that is such a HUGE coincidence!!! Can't wait to see pics of the 'other' Lucy!

*Oh, was there a creamie named Mochi? I know his owners and I gave them the meetup site, I hoped they got out there, they just adopted Mochi.

Not yet - I know his owners have joined our group, but they have not come yet. We rotate our meeting locations every month, so that people don't have to drive as far. Unfortunately they live about 40 or so minutes south of Atl (if I remember correctly) so I'm not sure how far they are willing to drive. While I am used to the drive, there are a lot of people that don't want to go "in town". Most of our meetups are central, north, and northeast of ATL.

Yeah, that one is in Peters park in Boston. Which is about a 35 minute ride. There aren't even any dog parks (fenced) in our area. Lucky we have friends with BIG fenced backyards.

Kenta & Jazz were the only two. Taki put Kenta's on Jazz because Jazz is such an attention slut.

I think that would be great! Is Chad going to be home for that one? I'll have one of the camp chairs with me for seating for you (if need be).

DANG IT! Chad leaves that day. Maybe I can con my mom into coming with if I am off bed rest.
Niko would of been there in her costume! Hating every minute of it...LOL. I love torturing her.

Taki had bought it for her shiba, Kenta, but his head is too big for it.

A friend of mine in the Atlanta Meetup group sent me these shots of her daughter playing the violin and her Shiba, Sasuke howling. I asked her if I could post and she said that would be just fine, so enjoy!

That is very cute. Sometimes I sing in the shower and Miso likes to come in and "remind" me of how NOT GOOD it sounds! He give a loud sharp bark like "Mom, quit it, you're making our ears bleed out here!"

Awww, that's adorable! I had no idea Sasuka was so talented. ;-)

Love the pics from the meet-up... Beautiful doggies! The videos are fabulous --- good violin playing and the dog is too funny! Singing along... not usually the way it works with violin, I guess, but its great!
