My wonderful husband built a new work desk for me last week...

Ryu has a new cuddle spot - right next to my feet :)

How cute is that! A special place for a Shiba to do their "work" aka Nap. It's a tough job but some shiba's gotta do it!

Oh yes, and he takes his job VERY seriously :P

He's kind of depressed today. Since we moved to MO last month, he has gotten extremely attached to one of our roommates (Drew - who owns the house we are renting). Well, Drew moved to Oklahoma this morning and Ryu has been whimpering underneath his bed the entire time he was packing. I felt bad for the poor pup :(

Awe, poor Ryu. Some dogs just hate change. But he certainly looks comfy under your gorgeous new desk! Tim did an amazing job.

I love your desk, tell Tim "Great Job!".

I love Ryu's "hidey-hole". He'll be able to get lots of napping, I mean work done there.

Is that a drumset for rock band?

Nice desk. I'd love to have room for a wood working shop, someday.

Yep, I definitely lucked out with my Construction Science major husband! You can't see it in the pictures but he even put in a metal groove so I can cut fabrics just like at the fabric store :) I feel like a pro haha

I just noticed that Ryu left his napping spot and went to Drew's old bed :(

I do a lot of sewing as well and I always said I need one of those cutting things so my lines get straight! You lucky duck. My husband is a construction project manager and I can't wait until we buy our own house and have room. Im sure I will need plenty of things built!

haha Brandon! You have laser eyes or something :) Yes, it's our Rock Band set. It is VERY popular in this house but I refuse to have it out in the living room like it's decoration. The other night, the three guys were jamming while I was working. I couldn't concentrate through all the "Say It Isn't So" *singing*!

Having a guy that loves to build things is SOOOO nice. I can't tell you how much of our furniture was built in our garage. He loves the practice, I love the money we save!

Wow. Tim did an awesome job! And Ryu looks very comfy.

But that stinks that he lost his buddy. Just remind him of what an awesome yard he has, and maybe he will perk up? :)
  • edited November -1
Awww, poor Ryu. Take him to the park and give him a nice treat and he'll perk right up, I'm sure.

Tell Tim he did a great job on the table!

    *Say it AINT so.

Rockband is best played when consuming alcohol, it helps cover up the awfulness of those playing.

Even a romp in that big back yard and some treats will probably help Ryu out.

    Spiffy desk!

Lmao, I can't even imagine playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero while drunk, it would be so difficult!
  • edited November -1
I love Rockband. I used to play all the time at a friends house. My husband is gamming challenged though and Im sure he wouldn't be able to figure out the game!

I play guitar hero on my Nintendo DS though, it's still pretty cool.

Ooh! How is the DS version? I've been eyeing it up, wondering if it's as fun as the console ones. Also, do you know if it works on the original style DS (ie, not the DS Lite)?
  • edited November -1
I have the original DS and it works just fine. It comes with an adapter for the original DS that you just have to swap out, there is one little screw and thats it.

It is def not as fun as the console, but it is worth the $40. I love it.

Thanks! I'll have to pick it up.

    Thread jack over. :)

Haha - no worries about the thread jack :) If I had to choose, I would take Rock Band over any war video game any day!!! There's nothing worse than listening to bullets and "Man Down!!" all day

Looks like I'll be baking some yummy doggie treats today...although he has moved from Drew's bed to MY pillow :)

cute cuddle spot and GREAT work space!

Nice desk Pam! Can Tim build me one too? LOL. My office is always a mess. I have two 55 width x 30 depth desks in the shape of an L and never have space! I think I have to get another one! That is really cool how he designed it too! Ryu looks real snuggly :). What is up with dogs and sleeping under desks? LOL Ninja and Portia are always napping under my desks!

Pam: "Look at this great desk my hubby made me, and it's so cute how Ryu loves it too."

Ryu: "Dad built me this awesome fort then mom came and put her stuff all over it, what's up with that?"

    Peanut Butter Carrot Cake
Naturally sweet, colorful and flavorful, this cake is simple and easy to make. Great for Fall.

    1 cup flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 cup peanut butter
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    1 cup shredded carrots
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 cup honey
    1 egg
Mix flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into greased 8" round cake pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Let cool. Puree cottage cheese in blender for icing. Decorate with more peanut butter and carrots

LOL Very true! By the way, I think Tim was embarrassed by my pictures (how messy the room was) so he cleaned it last night! I'll have to post more pictures because it looks 10x better now! :)
