    Hi Kristin!

I make the adjustable harness with cotton fabric (or cotton layered on top of nylon). I do have a shop opening in January 2009 called the Bark and Giggle Boutique. If you would like one before then, I'm doing custom orders in the meantime.

Here are some of the fabrics that I use to make my dog products:
    http://www.barkandgiggleboutique.com/threequarterinchfabricchoices
(ssshhhh, the names of the dog products are a secret until January! :D)

Also, I don't have a picture of one I've made but here is the general idea:

Oh my I would love to place a custom order! I am always looking for small businesses or handmade doggie things to buy, it's so great!

I love the flowers on garnet and the bubbles! I think Miso and Ryu are the same size so whatever fits him would work for Miso, I don't know how big Sake will get yet, so I will probably have to wait a few months to buy hers...

Just let me know how much they are and if you want me to send you a check, or I can also do Paypal if you have that.

    YAY, very exciting.

    You're too sweet :)

I would put Ryu in the 3/4 inch wide harness which is $20. However, since Miso and Sake are honorary Bark and Giggle puppies (meaning that I named B&G products after them), they get 10% off! Shipping is $2. Since paypal is easier, I'll just make a custom listing in my ShopHandmade store and send you the link :)

Would you want "Bubbles" for Miso since it's a bit more masculine than "Flowers on Garnet?" I'm add these to the fabric line today so you can choose from them as well .

I think bubbles for Miso would be great! 3/4 inch sounds perfect for him. I will make it one of his Christmas Presents, he will be so happy!

Can't wait for the link, thanks again!

Once the harness is made, I'll post some pictures of the final product :)

Thank you so much! I can't wait to see it!

I sew also, but I am more of a pillow, curtain, bedspread, really anything square person. My mother is an amazing seamstress and has made a lot of prom dresses, formal attire, wedding dresses in her day.

That's funny that you say that because my mom wanted to open a wedding dress shop once but couldn't stand doing the alterations :-) Maybe I should have gone into business with her! I think it's great that young people want to sew - it's therapeutic! :)

She never actually did a wedding dress, mostly bridesmaid things.

These are some pictures of a dress she made me for my cousins wedding last September. It is the gold strapless dress...

That's a beautiful dress!! You are very lucky to have a mom that can make such great dresses!
  • edited November -1
Yeah, she did all of our prom dresses in high school too. It was nice having an original dress, because in such a small place with only a handful of stores, there were ALWAYS girls with the same dress on...

I just did the checkout and the paypal. Take your time, I know you are probably very busy with opening your store!

    Hi Kristin!

So I have a choice for you ;)

I made your harness yesterday using the "Bubbles" print. The bubbles print is actually on a piece of fabric that has multiple prints. Normally, this doesn't present a problem unless the size of the harness is larger than the print. However, once I got going, I noticed that the underside of the harness was showing the complementary print as shown here:

When it is on the Shiba, you can't see the complementary print. As modeled by Ryu:

Since this happened, I will be discontinuing this print. However, I just added a similar print to our fabric line that has no complementary prints. I went ahead and made the same harness in this fabric so that you can choose between the two. This is the print that will replace the "Bubbles" print you originally chose:

So, you have the wonderful pleasure of choosing between the two! :)

Hope to hear from you soon,

Awwww, Ryu is so cute as a model!

    Decisions Decisions...

I just showed Chris (hubby) the pictures and he said they both look girly! I think they are retro and cute.

I think I like the original one (that Ryu modeled) the best.

They are both great though, I will tell every dog owner I know about your shop once it's open...oh yeah and the people with human babies :)

Haha My husband said the SAME thing!! :-)

He thinks ALL of my fabrics are girly so I can't win that battle :)

I'm glad you like the harness. Your final product will fit better than the one on Ryu after I make a few modifications. After that, it's all done and will be shipped tomorrow! :)

Haha! He is quite cute - He was Mommy's little helper while I was making the harnesses. Here is how he was helping:

    Good Helping!

That is how Miso helps me clean the house...but usually he drags his bed to the middle of the floor Im trying to vaccum and wont get up so I have to pet him to get him to move so I can clean.

    Silly little Shiba's!

Good Morning Pam! I hope all is well with you and Tim and Ryu.

I am participating the the Nihon Ken Secret Santa and I was going to go out and buy a toy or treats or something for my giftee, but then I thought of you and your wonderful Collars and Harnesses and Leads. Do you have gift certificates???? I thought it would be a great secret santa gift, plus it would promote your adorable and wonderful business!

    Let me know.

Can't wait to get the harness and show it off to everyone!

    Hello there!

That is a GREAT Secret Santa idea! :)

I set up a "Buy Gift Certificate" button through Paypal and published it on the website at http://www.barkandgiggleboutique.com/contact_us.html

This will allow you to set the amount, pay through Paypal, and print the gift certificate. However, the Paypal gift certificates are pretty ugly so you can just print it for your own records. I'll send you a custom gift certificate with all the important information through snail mail so you can send it to your SS recipient :)

I'll e-mail you a draft version of the gift certificate design.

P.S. You should get your harness pretty soon! I can't wait to see it on Miso!

Pam! Got the harness today, love it so much! When Miso is done with his nap and his afternoon walk I will get some pictures for you. You did a great job! Oh and Ryu too, because I know how hard he helped!

I will be getting the gift certificate for the Secret Santa gift. I will do that soon so you can mail it to me. Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for ordering! I'm dropping the gift certificate in the mail to you today. Also, I didn't seal the gift envelope so you could take a look at the certificate inside. I enclosed a sticker for you to seal the envelope with before you send it off :)

    Thanks again!!!
