Picking up Luytiy & meeting Masha [spam]...

edited November 2008 in Other Breeds
We had a great time meeting Stacey at Esquire Caucasians. She is so knowledgeable and nice. She really has helped us through the process of selecting our LGDs and she has an amazing ability to match people with dogs.

Stacey is Masha's breeder and had imported Luytiy and his brothers for breeding but decided to keep his brother instead of L. His brother shows more of the rarer lines of their pedigree and so she chose him over L. Their pedigree is amazing and links back to some amazing COs.

It was a lot of fun picking out Masha, we had already pretty much decided on the red girl from Onega's litter but we were waiting to meet her. She was perfect, and we really liked her head shape and personality.

I took a lot of pics and video, I'll start with some dogs then move to the puppies...

This is Viktor, he was guarding the whole time we were there. Watch how he is a serious guard then turns into a wiggly puppy when Jen approaches. He was already introduced to Jen and knew she wasn't a threat:

The dog hanging over the deck's railing is Veeter, he is Luytiy's half brother and is HUGE. He is also a brindle, which is kinda rare in COs.

The puppies were really cute, it was very hard to pick but the red one had the best temperament for us - Stacey had already picked her out for us but we could have changed it if we wanted. The little blue one really likes me, she was super sweet, but a bit more shy than we wanted.

These pups are only 5 weeks old. :o)

Love the videos! Interesting reaction from Josephine when I played the first one... She was at the opposite end of our house from the family room and came running out when she heard the puppies and barking on the video. She came right over near the speaker, and her head was going back and forth, the better to train her ears toward the puppy noises... These puppies are very cool! They are beautiful!

Will you have to make the journey again to pick up Masha, or will she be transported to you some other way? Just curious...

Cuteness overload! They are all such gorgeous dogs (and puppies)! How could you ever just choose ONE??? I would have left with them all! (And a dump truck for the yard clean-up!)

Bev - Yes, we will be driving back up there. We would ship her but it will be so close to the holidays we are concerned with the unreliability of the airlines and all.
