Don't Leave Me Again!

edited November 2008 in General
This resulted from a conversation about Tosca's recent misbehavior. If you have a dog, you may wish to hug them and if you don't, This may give you something to think about. Keep in mind, I'm not a real social butterfly; I just have a dog and am trying to have a life as well and she does get a lot of attention - maybe too much. She just misbehaves right before I have to go somewhere. I felt awful after this talk and spent a good long while petting my fluff. Then I had to post this.

Nan, when are we going to spend a whole day together again? I love my other people, but they aren't you. I'm with you in the mornings, and sometimes in the afternoons, but then you put on clothes that I haven't snuggled yet and you put that make-up stuff on your face and you put on your coat, but it isn't to take me out. You leave and you're gone for ages. Sometimes it's work, but Tuesday you were about to choose the company of some guy over me. We had plans! We were going to watch the election night reporting on the BBC. I saw you go for your lipstick and I had to act and when you went to get something upstairs I kicked over the bathroom garbage and shredded some of the contents just for good measure. You were angry, but you were here and we still got to watch the returns together. I'm so glad his class ran late and then he had some project to work on, but I know he'll be back. It doesn't sound like he's a new face around here. I don't like the smell of this one bit. I don't like to share my people.

Let's go watch tv on your bed. Let's go for a car ride. Let's play. Pet me. Pay attention to me. I always pay attention to you. Even when I'm sleeping, one ear is always open and it's tuned in on you. When you were sick a few days ago, I woke you crying and pawing your back because I wanted to know you were all right. I slept at your feet that night because you were shivering. I just want a bit of your time... and maybe a treat. Call out of work tomorrow; I miss you. If you don't I may have to destroy another pair of nylons.

It was obviously over thought and anthropomorphized to no end, but I posted it anyway.
