Poor, poor little Keiko. Hopefully this time everything will heal just right. But I do feel sorry for her and her lampshade. Did she at least get a cool purple one to match her bandage?

The poor little miserable monster got a clear cone actually... the Vet and I decided I could jazz it up with some cool stickers :o) I thought about using an "I Photobucket

    Photobucket

    Photobucket

BTW - she'd been sitting in that same spot for 20 minutes already when I took the camera out... she's just relocated to on my feet under the desk.

Evan, I'm sorry you're having so many complications. Poor girl. She's so lucky you're taking such good care of her. :-)

Dave! Your user name shrunk. :)

Aww, Evan. Poor Keiko. She looks (to quite Kristin) adorably miserable. I have never seen a clear cone like that, usually coloured or frosted (if that is the right word). At least she can see around her. How long does she have to keep the staples in for? Nola goes on Friday to have her sutures taken out.

She has the staples + cone for 2 weeks :o/ Luckily she's adjusted to having the cone on and she's back to 'trying' to be her normal hyper self. Keeping her calm is a 24/7 task. When I can't be in the same tiny area as her she has to go to her crate, which I hate doing, but it's for her own good. We are also putting a warm compress on the incision every 4 hours or so - I honestly can't remember why I'm supposed to do that (it was like 4am by the time I got home), but she seems to enjoy it.

We considered leaving her at home on Thanksgiving, but we're going to be gone for around 8 hours, and I'd rather take her and keep in her another room of our friends house so I can check on her.

She's a little spitfire and one hell of a trooper. Plus now I can call her conehead :o)

    Aww. Silly little conehead!

We are taking Nola with us for Thanksgiving too, even though she is suppose to be still taking it easy. We will crate her and let her meet all the new people one at a time so she does not have a brain explosion. I hope it all goes well tomorrow and that she sticks to her calm routine. :)
