Shinra Spam [ of the scaley kind ]
So he's pretty much been "crated" since breaking his leg to prevent him from climbing & re-injuring himself. However, we have been opening the door once a day to give him the opportunity t get out & have some exercise. He did so for the first time yesterday so I took the opportunity to take pictures
Him in his temporary home, getting some sun
I was playing with Depth of Field...
"If I close my eyes, maybe you'll go away..."
"You're still here."
He started walking, got about two feet, then gave up. lol [ it's so cute seeing him walk with his bandaged leg ]
Here's his leg all bandaged up, my poor baby!
Oh, & my dad "signed his cast" now lol
& Here's a picture of Sephiroth for good measure. *random*

His colour & appetite are starting to come back very slowly. He's still really grey ~
Since you are in FL you may want to consider basking areas outside in the sun with a spot that your fellow can get in the shade if it chooses. The sun that comes in the window usually is not enough for vit. D. absorption.
Iguanas have specialized care needs and to prevent bone degenerative disease/metabolic bone disease you will need to look into good lighting.
Take a look at Melissa Kaplins advice on Iguana care. http://www.anapsid.org/
I have attached her care sheet here.

Thanks Patrice. The window was actually open, so it was only being filtered through the screen. I didn't want to put him outside as it was 70 degrees out & too cold. [ windy! ] In his enclosure, he has two kinds of lamps, a fluorescent UV one & bulb-type one for heat, but we thought a couple hours in the sun would do him some good
When it's warm out he suns on the balcony hehe
Shinra sends his love to everyone, he's asleep right now [ which is also a good thing! Heuse to wake up constantlyin the middle of the night. He's also started moving the broken leg too. Before he couldn't move it at all. ]~
I've always wanted an Iguana, but my parents always said no. They look like cute gigantic adorable lizards to me. Though, I do have to say, i'm also a huge fan of the Bearded Dragons. 8) When I worked at the pet store, I loved holding them, they were so nice and just sat all chill in your hand. I love lizards like that. I used to own Anoles, buuut I was 8 years old, and they only lasted two years. I buried them in my backyard. lol.
Also, I'm not sure if you are aware, but you have a dinosaur living in your house, and his big long toes kind of creep me out.
Have you seen the poison dart frogs they are really beautiful and they are amphibians : )

Osy: Oh wow only 70 degrees in FL, for some reason I though it would be high 70's at least. To me Iguanas and lizards are pretty awesome and even they have a unique personality each their own. The one I assist in feeding is a tough old crow but does not like people. She will sometimes take interest if you have a big red strawberry, her favorite dessert. I would love to have a chameleon but I can not provide the top notch care it requires to have one in my home. They are sensitive and a bunch of barking dogs and people coming & going plus the dry winter environment would put most reptiles in jeopardy here, without a major overhaul of our heating system. I know people who have put in humidifiers and all sorts of lighting but we can not do that at this point.
Enjoy your managerie they are super cool. : )
I am so glad Shinra is doing better. If you are interested there is an iguana forum I think.... I can find out if you would like through some herp folks here.

It's great that he's healing up.
