Yowza, he's got a HUGE cone. Poor guy. They always look so depressed with those things on. Give him some lovins for a quick recovery. :-)

Awwww, that cone is gigantic!! Poor boy, he's so cute :o)

Yeah, you're telling me. I was surprised at how big his cone was. So how long do I let him veg before I forcefully have him stand and walk around some so he doesn't atrophy? Nevermind...he sat up and took a step. Time to carry him to the loo.

He won't atrophy in the time he'll be down post neuter surgery. You'll be struggling to keep him quiet by tomorrow night, Wednesday morning at the latest.

WOW - that is a huge cone!!! Pooor guy! Ninja was fine the next day...it was pretty hard to keep him from running up the stairs and chasing and playing with Portia. Dont' worry, He will be back to his old self before you know it.

Awww. Poor, poor Ichi. Hope he feels better soon! Give him some love and some treats, and he will forget all about his cone... That is until he tries to move his head. :-P

He's walking around with a perpetual hunch trying to lift that cone. I do feel bad but at least he's eating and drinking.

Maybe he needs a smaller cone. One preferably in a pretty colour. :)

I don't get as good a reception with a smaller cone though!

and as big as that cone looks...it's lip is 2 inches away from the tip of his muzzle. Just enough to make sure his tongue can't get to his stitches.

    Payback's a bitch...

I've been trying to take him out of his crate to relieve himself but he wouldn't budge so I let him be. Today I woke up and started smelling something awfully rank. He peed in his crate on his bed.

Now, the bed is one of those fleece covered, eggshell foam beds. I took the foam out and aired it out on the patio, and am planning to wash the liner, but is it salvageable. Will I be able to get the urine smell out of it to the point where he won't consider peeing in his bed anymore? Or should I just consider the bed a wash and throw it away?

Mika has peed in her bed before and I washed it in the machine. She hasn't done it since then and she sleeps there every night. That is my experience with bed peeing, lol.

Ichi looks so violated! Poor guy. I hope he gets back to normal Shiba behavior soon. Lots of human love here for him.

Also, I was going to ask how old Ichi is? I think him and Mika are close to the same age. I am getting her spayed but I didn't know when a good time frame to do that was. She just turned 5 months old. Any advice on that would be appreciated.

BTW, nice song! That's pretty funny.

Ichi is 20 weeks old (4/5 months depending on your gauge). The vet has a policy of not spaying or neutering until 6 months, but I strongly requested she do Ichi's earlier so it coincides with my time off from work. I'm glad I did because 1 or 2 days would not have been enough recovery time and monitoring on my part (ie, the weekend).

Where's some pics of Mika? I'm dying to see how she's grown into herself.
