Frisbee anyone? (high bandwidth)
As part of Joey's (belated) birthday celebration, I took him and Lucy to the P A R K yesterday. It was a bit overcast, but I had fun taking pictures of all the dogs anyway. Here are some of my favorites.
This guy LOVED to catch the frisbee. If he missed it (which didn't happen often) he would use both his front paws to squeeze the frisbee until one end came off the ground and he could grab it with his mouth. It was really cool to see how he'd developed that technique.
Lucy wasn't feeling very social, so she spent the whole 2 hours we were there just wandering around sniffing the ground.
Note her hackles up in this one. I'm not sure why, but she was like that most of the outing. :-/
There were two Irish Wolfhounds that came to the park, both male, both intact. The smaller of the two took a liking to Lucy and followed her around a bit:
Joey, was...well...for lack of a better word: Joey! :-D
Lastly, this will hopefully make Jen smile. There was this really cool Basset there named Butters. He was a total goof and photographed really well:
Sorry for the spam overload, I had trouble choosing. Lots and lots more photos here.

Is it just me? I do not find Irish Wolfhounds particularly attractive!!
They're mangy looking.
Nice pictures. Lucy and Joey look adorable as always.

Great pics!
Joey looks like he had a blast for his birthday outing. I really really like the second picture in Joey's sequence. That little dog with his feet in the air cracks me up!
I love Irish Wolfhounds, if I ever decided to get a BIG dog, they would top the list.
Great pics Dave! It inspires me to bring my dSLR to the dogpark next time.

Irish Wolfhounds are great dogs, truly gentle giants. But do remember what the Irish say about them :"Gentle when stroked, fierce when provoked"!
That Great Dane was just giving it away, huh? Poor Basset.
Is that a Weimeraner in the shot with Butters? I dislike them more than Irish Wolfhounds (which look awesome in these shots, btw!)
Joey looks like a free spirit!
Joey is a free spirit when it comes to other dogs. He'll run and play with any dog, any time. When some grandparents brought their grandchild into the park with them Joey got a bit freaked out by her running around making high pitched noises. I don't blame him though, that was inappropriate for a crowded dog park.
I think the dog in shots with Butters is a Weinmaraner mix of some sort. I can't quite put my finger on what though. Maybe Dane? I think that was Jessica's guess.
Wow...the size difference between shiba vs Irish Wolf hound is crazy!!!
Lucy is such a pretty girl, & Joey looks like he was having the time of his life! ~
