The Improbablity of Smuggling Shibas

edited January 2009 in Shiba Inu (柴犬)
I'm thinking of going to visit a friend in the city and had the idea to surprise her by bringing Tosca to meet her. Hmm... But how to hide an above standard adult shiba inu for a few minutes in order to maximize the surprise? Put it in a bag, of course! So I went to my closet, found my duffle bag, picked up Tosca, put her in the bag, and told her to lie down and stay. This is the result. She wasn't fussing. I think she thought it was a bed. I love the "Do I look like a chihuahua?" look. I won't put her through that again. Yes, I'm still apologizing to Her Ladyship for this egregious treatment.

The Morale of the Story: Smuggling a shiba inu around is harder than I thought.

    Poor, poor little Tosca! :-P

She is definitely a cutie... and more tolerant than either of mine!

I see a red head. She's being so good, you could seriously take her anywhere that way except your shoulder would be very sore after a few minutes.

I once took Moto on a long walk in the summer. We went further than originally planned and he was to hot to go on. I had to carry him back and tried to do so in my messenger bag. He too would have none of it.

*sigh* shibas aren't purse dogs, even if we want them to be sometimes.

I have a pouch carrier for Jazz...she loves it. I'll be showing it off at our next outdoor meet. Then again, Jazz wants to be held when we are outdoors, so it works for her. I don't know of very many shibas that would want to carried like that.

Toby would break a bag. D: I already come close picking up my 40 lb dog, I couldn't imagine holding him in a bag. And he would never stay. lol

Tosca admits defeat. :) She looks like she wouldn't mind being carried in that.

I imagine that I would have a very shredded bag if I tried to stick one of my shibas in it.

Nice try, though. 'A' for effort.

Mookie would never get into a bag. If we tried to lift him into it, he would do "the flying Shiba" and spread all his legs out as far as he could so he wouldn't fit. Penny would probably just deal with it and be a good sport.

Tosca looks so cute though. No wonder you couldn't keep her in there! :)
