Playdate Spam (Ryu, Roxy and Denali) Super High Bandwidth :D
hello all!
My friend brought her black lab mix, Denali, for a doggie playdate yesterday. I was SO PROUD of Ryu. He was so welcoming and playful and really didn't care about another dog coming to HIS house. I really think Denali being a female had A LOT to do with it but I was still very pleased. He made me a very happy mom yesterday!
Also, Roxy shocked us all. Whenever we have people over, she runs either to my bed or to my office and avoids all contact. However, yesterday with a new person, baby and dog coming over, she stayed in the same room with us and actually sniffed my friend! She was completely glued to Denali and was extremely social! I wanted to cry tears of joy!
And on to the pics!
Roxy likes to stalk and pounce. Here is the stalking:
A pretty shot of my baby girl:
Ryu, in full play mode:
Ryu and Roxy confused by the fur-less baby:
Completely pooped and happy:
more play:
I also have a video uploading so I'll post it later.
**Side story: The reason for the playdate was because I needed my friend to model a baby carrier for me. As we were doing the photo shoot, I noticed Denali staring at the door leading to the garage. I said to my friend, "That's really funny! What is she looking at?" My friend says "Is that door open?" Sure enough, the door was wide open and the garage door was open! Roxy was in the living room with us but Ryu was GONE! I ran out to the garage and saw Ryu sitting next to the driveway in the yard.. just SITTING THERE. I was so relieved and terrified at the same time. That is quite literally my worst nightmare come true. I'm so glad and lucky that he didn't leave our yard. (I think all of you know how paranoid and anal I am about keeping my dogs on leash and secure. This was completely unusual and a true nightmare for me!) Looks like Ryu and Jazz had the same idea at the same time

And the promised video!
Her mother was picked up as a pregnant stray so we have no idea what she is mixed with. Some of the other puppies in her litter resembled boxers and some looked like collies lol
Denali is super sweet and loving. Every time I spend time with her, I want to add a lab to our mix
It's looks like all 3 of them had a great time.
Roxy is getting big...How old is she now?
I love the stalking pic and the confused by baby pic! lol!
*oh! and Kitsu was like Roxy when we first adopted him (at 1y/o) and for the first couple visits we had, he wouldn't leave the hallway or my bedroom until we had a friend bring her dog, then he warmed up a little. Now (+1yr later) he'll stay in the general vacinity and sniff people until someone does something to freak him out. Progress for Roxy indeed!
I have no idea what Denali looks like haha. I'm the worst at guessing breeds. She's just a big black sweetheart in my eyes! I think its fun to hear what others (more knowledgeable dog people) think she is.
Jen: I've noticed a lot of improvements with Roxy. I really think Denali being here eased her fear of the new person. She does much, much better with dogs. And Ryu being a complete social butterfly helps a little I'm sure. We've only had her for a month and a half so I think we're off to a great start!
Glad to hear Ryu did so well! ~
It looks like an awesome time for them!
Ryu getting out must have been a huge scare.
That video was fun to watch, Roxy and Denali were great. Denali reminded me of Luytiy with that slow wagging animated tail - very cute!
It's really cool that you can have a doggy visitor and not have any issues. Good boy Ryu!
This was some great pam spam. )

Denali does not look much like a lab mix --- no floppy ears and the feet are way small ... in spite of the mix, usually those features come through ... She is a very pretty dog, though! Looks like she has a great freindly but mellow personality!
Thanks for sharing!
