Photos from the ATL meetup on 2/15/09

edited February 2009 in Shiba Inu (柴犬)
Hi everyone!

I'm still getting my life back on track after vacation last week, but I did manage to make it to the meetup on Sunday after getting off my 9 hour redeye. Yeah, I'm a total slave to my dogs, I know. :-)

Here are a few of my favorite pics.

Joey wanting to say hi to his friend Jazz:

Lucy wanting to say hi to her friend Jazz:

Joey had a nice long play session with Charlie again. They are good buds:

Lucy has been in the best mood she's been in for months. Part of it may have to do with her being off her steroid for a few days (mixup at the pharmacy). But I wasn't complaining:

I don't recall this guy's name, but he LOVED his ball:

Jazz trying hard not to touch the ground:

These made me melt:

I finally managed to get this on camera. This is one of Joey's ways that he invites play with Lucy. He will stick his head underneath her and lift her butt up in the air.

She HATES it.

Joey looks to be molting like a buffalo.

I really like the pictures of the man with his baby and the two shibas. Very sweet.

    Lucy looks good.

LOL! The second to last picture looks like Lucy is leaping over Joey! That was a great shot.

And I also love the shot of Jazz not wanting to touch the floor... She reminds me of Bella when it is soggy out.

Welcome back from vacation! I hope you had a nice relaxing week. (and I hope you took thousands of pictures!)

    Thanks guys!

@brandon: Yeah, Joey dropped almost his entire coat while I was gone. He went from being fine to looking like that in a week (and my house is covered in hair). He got furminated after we got home.

@casey: Thanks! I was pretty sad when I got off the plane. But then I got wiggly butts and a face full of kisses and I realized it was good to be home. :-) Oh yeah, I did take almost 1000 pictures. I'll post some when I get finished sorting and editing them (which may be a while).

I was glad Dave was back so he could take photos at the meetup! :-D

Flying ball dog is Akki - a true nut when it comes to going after it. Jazz was not in the greatest mood (notice how high on my shoulder she is when Lucy was trying to say hi). She really didn't want to get down, either. After an hour, she spent a little time walking around. We had 5 new people there. One was a couple that wants to get a shiba in a year or so, one was older couple with a very shy red shiba named Niko - they joined because their adult daughter (with a cream shiba named Nina) had joined our meetup.

I love seeing Scott holding the baby in the sling. He & his wife do rescue - they had 4 or 5 dogs with them - two that are currently up for adoption.

LJ - I was not going to say anything... but now that you mention it, the expression on both you and Jazz's faces when Lucy is saying hi is hilarious! Especially the first flying ball dog (Akki) picture. :-P

I know - I have a crazy dog. The other thing was I had treats with me and I can't give any to Lucy because of the IBD thing, but she kept coming up and Jazz kept growling because her space was being invaded.

So bummed we couldnt make it. The girls need to be with their friends but it was a bit of a drive. So hoping to introduce Elijah to more psycho shiba's next month.
