Officially Intruducing The Goofball

edited April 2009 in Shiba Inu (柴犬)
I think it's time to formally introduce the latest member of the household: Gufi!

Gufi ("Goofy" spelled wrong to keep with the whole "_ _ _ i" spelling that the other dogs have) came to us through a friend who had a really rough medical situation almost immediately after he got the little dude. He had to have a hip replaced, and so we took little guy in for what -we thought- would be a short stay... well, Bob had lots of complications and we just kept hanging on to "the goofball." I should have known better, because he became a part of our family right from the very beginning.

But now it's official! His 6-month birthday just passed, which is the deadline to have a dog licensed in Nebraska, and we put him in our name. He has been such a funny little dog, SO easy going and the biggest kisser I have ever seen. I suppose he is a creamy, but not as light as Yogi and certainly not as light as his littermate, and he's got the best. face. ever. Can you tell I love the little snot??? OKAY! So without further ado: SPAM.

Here he is on his first day at camp!

Yesterday he found out how much he likes playing underneath the deck...

...but that he can't get out on his own!
035

So Yogi thought he would help...
046

...and Miki thought she would help Yogi.
049

Gufi thought he would never get out alive...

...but then he realized if he let mom take a few more adorable pictures of him she would probably pull him out. So he gave his best cute faces...

And mom got him out, saving the day! Yaaay!

Hehe- thanks for letting me be "weird dog-parent" for a moment there... I really needed it!

Thanks! My friend is doing a lot better, but still in too rocky of a place to handle any dog, let alone a shiba puppy. We're so glad Gufi was a good fit.

Very cute!! I love his in-between cream/red color. Such a good sport, even while he was stuck.

I love the visual vignette. I love how you named him (and your friend didn't mind). Your dogs are adorable and look so playful. I understand where you're coming from with him. I know my little one has kicked, clawed, and squeezed his way into places he had trouble getting out of later on.

What cute pics, love the desk play and the peace sign hanging off Gufi's collar.

They all get peace signs (because of course they would know if one was being favored over the others... right...) and I'm going to start blinging them out because I can't wear any of the fun cheap jewelry myself because I'm allergic to most of it... sad for me, fashionable for the dogs! Look for more collar charms in the future, as long as they don't snag and rip them off.
