The Great Shed of 2009...

edited April 2009 in Shiba Inu (柴犬)
never came!

I have commented (sometimes at length) about how Tosca is not the "typical shiba" and I have doubted whether or not she's full shiba from time to time - not that that really matters, but I have wondered none the less. Well, it is well-documented that shibas shed like it's their job - except for one very special shiba. Yep, Tosca seems to have forgotten to shed. It's been hot these last few days, so I gave her a bath hoping to get rid of any loose hair which had somehow missed the weekly brushings.
I imagine that her baths are not near as amusing for her as they are for me, but a soggy shiba never fails to make me laugh. I love the suddenly enormous ears and the pathetically skinny tail. Also, Tosca likes to run and shake at the same time and as a result tends to run into stuff. Tonight it was the bathroom cabinets. Now, for your entertainment, I present to you a collection I call The Bath. The titles are as folows:

Stare Of Doom
Rodent
Ears
Baby1 (These were taken while I was holding her wrapped in a towel.)
Baby2
Mighty Shake

So cute! Keiko also likes to shake and walk and run into things... it's hilarious (to me).

I love how similar Tosca & Jazz are - Jazz doesn't shed a huge amount - the most we ever really get is a fluffy butt.

Poor, poor Tosca. She was definitely a good sport to not jump out of the shower while you were taking photos. I could never get photos of my two in the bath, they would make a break for it!
