Now Imagine If This Was A Boar

I was just bored and posted old random and "useless" videos in another thread. And then I realized something...

...in this video Shoushuu is up against my household cat. Could you imagine if a wild boar was in my cat's place?

I've seen hunting photos of Shikoku with boar. And I'm AMAZED on how such a small creature could go after such large prey. Boars are VERY dangerous. How does a Shikoku evade? Well, they have pretty damn quick reflexes and a good sense of it too.

Check it out, pay really close attention to this video. You see how quickly he dodges her attacks? He's like a Shikoku ninja! It's actually REALLY COOL to watch. So super awesome, it needed its own thread:

Shikoku are pretty swift and agile. He totally dodged 3 simultaneous attacks! You see how he keeps his distance?!

Corina: Thanks for the video --- your doggie definitely knows how to evade the cat! I was thinking Mountain Lion as the next foe! Advise some of that training with the live boar bait in a cage before you try this at home with a real wild boar!

    LOL

Seriously, though, I see the cunning mind, agility and speed coming out even in this "fun" encounter with the kitty, and have a better idea how some of these smaller breeds might be successful when matched up against a larger wild animal.

    Thanks for sharing!

Corina - I agree with you. I notice in playing with Kuma (vs my Siberians previously) that he is incredibly quick and agile and can redirect his body in the most amazing leaps and bounds to avoid contact from the attacker. Really amazing sizeways leaps and jumps to get out the the way. I always thought that must have been developed over eons to evade a boar who would be charging. Because to go from a full out direct onslaught at full speed and then redirect your body at the last second because of a "jab/attack" is pretty agile and athletic!

Dang, that is one agile pup! Amazing the self control that dog has...especially with a hissing/swiping cat...hopefully both cat and do won't figure out the proper order of the food chain!
