Great videos. We just rescued an Akita and my 13 year-old daughter will be responsible for her...under close supervision and training from mom and dad. We explained that she will need a life of training and exercise, that she is not a passive house dog. We discussed some options: Obedience training, search and rescue training, and my daughter brought up agility training. Your videos are great and more than helpful in understanding more of what that is all about. There is an event in our area and I think, thanks to your post, we'll go check it out.

Good work, and it looks like work..and a lot of fun.

    Mdarius:
agility dog is fun with an Akita. try! but before, your Akita have to be very good in obediance.
when you try Agility with your Akita, perhap's he don't like (so don't insist for this discipline and try an other)... or perhap's he love it!
if he love agility, it's great for the Akita and his owner.

search and rescue training for Akita: in France, we have 3 Akita in SAR for professional, and they're excellent.

I'm waiting for Twix's news in activity

He's doing great! How long can you work together with your dogs before they get preocuppied or lose their attention? And how many hours per week do you work?

Bara is doing well! And, of course I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pic of Bara and Achiko. Very cute.

    tjbart17:
I work agility 1 hour per week with Bara.
Bara never get preocupped, she's always happy in Agility. because Agility is lot of change exercices, so it's not boring for Bara.
When I was doing agility with my first Akita Inu, Jhokkaido: he get bored after 30/40 min of Agility.

But with other Akita, they lose their attention after 30 min of obediance.
    :-)

Barbara: Bara and Achiko are in love together, a real "old little couple" hihihi

Hey, is that a CO I spy with EARS???

Sensei doesn't seem to be very comfortable there, at least not that day. Bara looks good "on the job".

    Corina - I'd say it's a Leonberger...

Wow... It was cool to see an akita doing agility. One thing is sure and it is that you can do almost anything with your akita!

Yes Emilie... I'm planing on start traning Viggo in competition obedience after the summer. He did compete in the Akita Inu Society championship a couple of weeks ago and I realized that with the right training he will probably be really good at it :)

Unfortunately many peoples thinks that akitas are too hard to train and they are to stubborn to participate in such activities.

Martin: I'm interest about your competition. (I love to see Akita Inu on activities)
I hope you show us photos and news
