Where did all the Shiba Inu go?

edited September 2009 in General
The moderators and admins have decided to implement a significant change to the Nihon Ken Forum. The increased number of participating members has almost been overwhelming. We are very excited about the enthusiasm of the almost 1,000 members of the forum; however, with the increased traffic on the forum, certain challenges to participation and administration of the forum have become clear to us.

To overcome these challenges, we have decided to split the forum into two distinct communities: the Shiba Inu Forum and the Nihon Ken Forum. We wish to make clear that this is NOT a value judgement. All members of the forum community are valuable to us. The decision to separate content focused on Shibas into its own forum is based solely on traffic levels. We believe that the number of participating Shiba members has reached critical mass to sustain their own community whereas the remaining five breeds will still benefit from a combined forum.

Everybody that is currently a member of the Nihon Ken Forum will retain membership in both forums. New member applicants will have to choose which forum to apply to (or apply to both). To make the transition easier, all of the Shiba and general content from the Nihon Ken Forum has been preserved on the new Shiba Inu Forum. LJ (ljowen123) will be taking responsibility for administering the Shiba Inu Forum and Brad (brada1878) will retain his roll as the administrator of the Nihon Ken Forum.

We recognize that this division may come as a surprise to many of our valued members. We ask that you please keep an open mind as we continue to work to make the Nihon Ken Forum and the Shiba Inu Forum the best destination on the internet for all things related to the Japanese breeds.

As always, your comments and feedback are welcome. Please feel free to whisper your comments to any one of the admins (brada1878, dlroberts, ljowen123, brandon_w, or jessicarabbit).

Happy Foruming!
