I saw a post on retrieverman's blog about this article and I checked it out, it's a good read...

"The Wolf Who Stayed" By Mark Derr

I thought some of you may enjoy it.

Thanks for posting. A very good article. Have seen bits and pieces of the "domesticated dog" discussion elsewhere. This article pulls together a great deal of the research. PBS had a series on "the dog" awhile back that was pretty good.

Thanks for posting. It almost asks more questions than it answers, but does provide a lot of good information.

Here's a NOVA video about the Russian Fox experiment...kind of interesting how selecting for 1 trait detabilized the genes.

And an interesting article in American Scientist

It's extremely interesting how morphology and temperament are so tightly linked.

There are some examples in a few breeds too, that are pretty cool.

About the domestication, it was a very interesting article. There are loads of facts, even if it can't provide a conclusion (no one can right now, don't know if it will ever be possible)
One thing I'm pretty sure of, It had to be a really profitable relationship for both parts.
