First short video of Baron on 'recall'. He's a little monster this pup. After hitting the puppy jackpot with our excellently behaved is-she-even-there Haru, Baron is on the other end of the spectrum. It works out okay actually as they both represent different sides of the Nihonken temperament, and a lot of it probably has to do with the difference in male/female.
Now that you've got one puppy on each end of the spectrum, you can appreciate them better. You've got perspective! And you've got one damn cute puppy. :-)
Baron was the odd looking pup of the bunch. Guess you just never know how a pup will end up.
Good news, Momo and Baron were a bit iffy, but last night I managed to get Haru/Baron/Momo together for a play session after their walks. They were full on wrestling and bumping NK style. Looks like they'll work out together. Of course before that Haru and Momo had a bit of a scuffle which was surprising because they have been getting along. Momo got up in Haru's face, and Haru took her down a peg. After that, Momo seems a lot more comfortable with Baron. Maybe they sorted out some loose pack structure or something.
He looks really good! Quite a substantial boy! Not as (overly) thin as some of the NK you see (even my own) :-) Glad that Momo is getting along (mostly) with your other two.
And I had to laugh out loud rereading this thread about your comment when you first got Baron that he was at the opposite end of the spectrum from Haru as far as easiness as a puppy. I am going through that right now...my new Shikoku female Sachi is WAY more of a handful, into stuff and more independent that my male Shikoku Kuma was at that age. He was as you described Haru (not sure she is even there she was so good). Good thing puppies are cute.

AWWWW!!! His ears are still floppy! ~
... the ears are up, he's 2 months old, and weighing in at 5.7kg
Have you heard any lore or history of the breed lately?
Koda is like Haru....He's just a good quiet boy. I think us getting easy laid back Kai was just luck, and I don't count on it happening again. ha ha
What a cute little guy!

And looking great! What have you been feeding that boy?
How is he doing with his training?
