Nice to see a slim, trim, fit Shikoku and off-leash no less. She looks to be perfectly normal and relaxed and having a great time.
We have mule deer here in our neighborhood, everywhere -- they are born in people's yards in some places, take their afternoon siestas on front lawns looking for all the world like someone's domestic pet. They're all over our suburban streets and sometimes downtown, in parking garages, crossing city streets and highways and interstates. Anyway, I got to thinking that if I ever got one of these beauties, and he went streaking after a deer in the hills, it sure would look to the neighbors like a wolf or coyote. I think I'd get reported!
The tongue pics are priceless!!!! You two must have been having a great time. So, does this mean that we will get more pics of Kotomi? Is this an official spam thread?
Yes, very much the sesame/red sesame shikoku look like coyotes from a distance (and to the average person probably do not look like a "dog"). For that reason, my Kuma who is a similar color to Kotomi always wears his collar outside in case he got loose (I live in the country).
Kotomi looks so cute! It is really amazing how similar shikoku look :-)
Yeah, by far...I think she has the LONGEST tongue ever! LOL.
She's cute, I can't deny her her own thread...but I don't have a fancy camera and she's difficult to photograph. However, with the outdoors, lots of sunlight and plenty of time...you'll be amazed at what a little digi-cam can do! I will try to get on a "semi-regular" spam basis. Will need to put up some videos too.
Perhaps eventually, I can invest in one of those "professional" cameras...it seems that's what all the dog people are getting into these days. Tis' the only way for higher quality pics and more "fun" ones too! I LOVE action shots and that's what they're excellent for.
I'm trying to go for "naked" photos now on my dogs whenever possible - I think the photo comes out best this way...all natural!
Thank you all for your lovely comments on Miss Kotomi. As part of her full name dictates "Kotomi-hime...she is a (little) princess! lol.
I'm very pleased with my #7 photo - perfect timing on that one!
Wow, she's very nice looking, great coat and colors. Very close to Shousei. I love the wide angle shots, they can be a lot of fun with dogs faces. I take many in telephoto, for less DOF, so the dog gets isolated from the background. That produces nice shots, but for sure less funny ones :-) I think I will try some wideangle stuff as well. We did some with Reno in Milano, really cool. #7 really is very nice. But I agree with others, where does she puts her tongue when she closes her mouth?

And I will never cease to be amazed at how big Shika tongues are.
