Breeders out there?

edited January 2010 in Akita (秋田犬)
Looking for breeders in the US that have Akita Inu puppies. REALLY hard to find any out there. Mostly just the American Akita sites.

Thanks!

Here are a couple suggestions: http://www.hyozan-akitas.com/ <--in texas and http://www.japaneseakitas.org/ in california. There are a lot of tweenie breeders (not 100% japanese Akita) out there but these two are 100% JA and Akiho registered.

Do you know anything about Aoyama, I tried emailing them being they are only ten hours from where i live but have gotten no response if they breed or not. Other breeding sites say yes but people can stop at any time.

Where is Aoyama out of? Do you have a link?

Also what type of Akita are you looking for - Japanese Akita or an American Akita?

Last question - what part of the world, country, state.... do you live in?

I live in Ohio so anything east coast isnt bad to drive or midwest area.
I found aoyama by searching japanese akita, or akita inu breeders in america

    here is their site
    http://japanese-dogs.com/

I'm guessing they dont breed anymore or if they do they dont ever check their email lol

Akasta is no longer breeding after Pat Szymanski's passing away?
  • edited November -1
That is correct -Akasta is no long doing any breedings. State side currently the only 100% Akiho registered breeders are www.japaneseakitas.org and http://www.hyozan-akitas.com/. I do know of a third one but even she is trying to dig through her paper work and get her Akita Akiho registered. There maybe be other Japanese Akita breeders out there in the states -but- they are either Tweenies (part American part Japanese) or Japanese but without Akiho registration.
