Our Shibas wear rolled collars with their tags all the time. Their 'walk' collars are flat leather and the leash snap bolt is taped shut with electrical tape onto the flat collar. We had too many instances of the dogs going into bushes etc and pushing the bolt open. The 'walk' collars are adjusted so that you can fit just two fingers comfortably under the collar. We also use the 'pop the leash' technique is someone is lagging or being difficult- much less chance of them backing out of their collars. We found that if we wanted to have two tags on their rolled collars, we needed to put one on the ring and one through one of the open holes in the collar [we reinforce the hole with a metal grommet]. That way the two tags don't clank into each other and make a lot of noise nor do they get banged up and disfigured.
Dave - Yellow Snow Dog Gear sells a Martingale style collar that is all cloth and has a clip/plastic buckle in it. Nemo wears one and it's been a great collar. The clip makes it easy to take on and off without adjusting the size. Their website has been down for awhile but I'm pretty positive they are still a company. You can call them at 603-939-2041. I'm guessing Lucy would be a small. They call it a "limited slip" collar. They also sell one with reflective material woven into the collar.
Brandon: Its seems the new site is www.yellowsnow.net although it is still under construction. I have no idea why the other one went away. I'll take a look periodically to see what I can come up with.
For now, I bought Lucy a rolled leather collar that she wears regularly and am going to continue to use the collar that stains her fur for walks.

So shouldnt that be another point for Niko cause daddy was supposed to be watching her when she ate it. It really only lasted a few hours on her.
It is the metal, with light color fur you see the tarnish, it will wash off.
Haha. Why yes Rachael, I believe the committee should award another point to Niko!
I'll try washing it off and see how that goes.

Thanks for the suggestions.
