Please help to find japan breeders
Dear friends,
my name is Artem, Moscow, Russia. I'd like to start breeding shikoku in Russia (now working with akita and shiba). Would you be so kind to help me in this breed and introduce in japanese breeders, some of you have import dogs. It's very high language barrier between japan and russia.
Kind regards

Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately I suspect you may have some trouble finding connections to the Shikoku community via this forum. There are a few members who do have connections and I will let them reveal themselves if they feel comfortable. In general though, most people are very protective of the breed as a whole, and protective of their contacts in Japan as a way to help ensure the success of their breeding programs.
Some of the generic advice often given is to contact the Japanese preservation society. Here is a link to the page translated into Russian: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=ru&u=http://www.nihonken-hozonkai.or.jp/
I think your best bet would be to find someone local who can translate for you and attempt communication via the preservation society.
Good luck, and welcome again to the forum!
Just by hanging out on this forum for a while you will probably get the feel for how rare the Shikoku are outside of Japan. There's also a very small community of breeders here in Japan, and because of the language barrier it can be hard to break into. It will take time and patience to find the right Shikoku to import, but if you feel you're up for it you can send an email my way. My address is in my profile. Hopefully I can help you with at least some information on what importing entails.
Good luck on your Shikoku searching. Sorry I can't be of any help. I've never even had the pleasure to meet one yet.
