My puppy cannot come soon enough! Well maybe there is that whole moving thing huh? I'll just covet yours for a couple months.
Romi-that was Kaia. (I still think it is hilarious that I can name all 6 of someones dogs whom I have never met, but I forget my friends boyfriends name all the time)
I like how in the video you can see the difference in their personalities by the way they rub...
Loa is very free spirited and happy - so she just dives right in and is on her back getting crazy.
Ahi, on the other hand, is a bit more calculated and uptight so she looks at it and sniffs it, tries to eat it, then she places her shoulder on it but doesn't fully commit.
Kaia started rubbing on it right after I cut the video off... I wish I had still had it on, Kaia is really funny when she does it.
Jessica - LOL, thank you for that! Hehehe Sorry about that Kaia, Shes just so small....I get them 2 confused now. Once Kona grows up, I think i'll have it down.
Dave, shibas are just a gateway drug. Everyone wants a shikoku eventually!
Brad, I have no doubt that you mix their names up with that many! I mix up all the kids' names, too. It really horrifies people when I say to Isaac, "Tojo, leave it!... I mean... Isaac, put that down, please." LOL
Haha. You're right, they are a gateway drug. I promised myself that two dogs was going to be it. But I want an Akita and a Shikoku and....I'm going to have to make myself wait though. Joey is going to be enough of a handful and then at some point it might be a good idea for me to think about focusing on finishing my degree and finding a job.
Sasha does that to the bath rug when I get out of the shower....sometimes even right when the shower gets turned off. She harasses it, licks it, rubs it psychotically. I love my monsters!
Our Shibas do the post bath freak-out too! Its so funny! They Shiba 500 all over and stop and rub on things. The Shikas do it too, but that usually turns into a fight because they are so reactive and crazy. Its one thing to have two Shibas banking off the backs of the couch, but add 2 Shikoku to it too and its just hectic.
Heidi is so right - Shibas are the gateway dog drug - lol! This forum too! You guys want an Ahi, but now I want a pit, and a Hokkaido, and .... well it just goes on and on!
As for the name mixing up - it usually only happens in a quick reaction situation... and I will go through all the names... "Hilo, no Ahi, no Kona, no Kaia, no Maui, I mean Loa - LEAVE IT!" lol! All the dog look at me like "Gosh dad, I'm just standing here... WTF?".
LOL Brad! I can just imagine you going through all the names and all the dogs tilting their heads at you like "huh?". Portia gets crazy after baths. She likes to rub herself on everything too. Expecially our bed comforter . Ninja is more chill. He kind of gets excited when he's done and just wiggles a lot. Not much of a rubber yet. Its seems that every dog I've had gets more excited than ever after a bath. Like the warm water and shampoo turns some light on in their brain and makes them super excited. I think the rubbing might be because of the smell of the shampoo? And they're trying to get it off or re-mark their territory?
I love it!! Mika rubs on anything that has been freshly washed. It's the Bounce. She loves the smell! When I do laundry, I'll give her a sheet. She puts it on the floor and rubs all over the sheet. But only a few times, then she wants a new one. Crazy.
I'm also glad to hear that I'm not the only one that randomly yells out the wrong pet name. Usually, it's Mika. She get's scolded all the time. I was complaining about my boyfriend's mess a few weeks ago and I called him Mika too!!

You're only starting to want one? I'm trying to figure out the logistics of sneaking away with Ahi without the other 5 dogs and two humans noticing.
Nemo likes to roll on blankets like that, I've never given him the opportunity to do it on a towel.

Chad sent me a video of Niko's post bath shiba 500 and I only saw a red blur.
This morning shower Sasha didnt even wait for me to get out of the shower and then she forces me off the rug so SHE can have it.

Shampoo is a human thing...their wild instincts dont think they need to smell "fresh". That is the rubbing coming in...we made them stink!
LOL
