Kaiju!

Same applies here, I feel kinda bad about making this post with Mochi being lost and all. But, again, these imports were on their way here when that happened.

You guy got a sneak peak of Kaiju thanks to Shigeru, but here is a proper intro...

Kaiju is our male Shikoku Ken import, he is from a kennel down in Hiroshima, Japan. He lives up to his namesake (Kaiju mean "monster")... He has a big personality for such a little dude. lol

This is how he rolls...

I have some vids uploading of him too.

  • Omg so cute! lol @ how he rolls ;)
  • that last pic is the funniest puppy pic i've seen. He's a real cutie :)
  • LOL at the last pic...He is such a handsome boy:) Are you planning on using him as a stud for the other shika breeders, or is this the start of re-building your shika breeding program?
  • Eeggghhhh tell the little monster to leave my baby girl alone. Lol no Shikokai breedings.

    Corina and I miss him.
  • Aww I love the second picture! And he came from my hometown, love him already :P
  • He's sooo cute! I love all these new Shikoku pups!
  • Congrats Brad! He's adorable!
  • Oooooo! You're importing shikoku! Yay!
  • Very cute little guy.
  • Man, he is absolutely stunning! I can't wait to see how he matures. I think he's the best looking Shikoku pup I've ever seen!
  • LOL! I wrote on your FB post before I saw this thread. I take back what I said earlier in Shigeru's post about him being a mellow pup...that puppy "porn" is just...wrong! :-)
  • Lol he will hump anyone. He lives up to his name. He humped my leg too.

Dave he is amazing. He is so young and yet looks so mature and tough. He makes an impression on you from the moment you see him.

Thanks all! :o) He's a nice pup for sure.

We didn't really plan to import any Shikoku, we had planned to just focus on our Kai Ken program... but while I was in Japan Shigeru and I got word of this litter and I felt I couldn't pass on him.

So, our plan for him is to use him as a stud for the other breeding programs, assuming he is healthy and all. He should add a little something to the North American blood lines. Maybe one day we will try again with our Shikoku plans, but I don't really have much interest in that program right now.

It's fun having a Shikoku pup again tho! He is mellower than the girls were, but still pretty nuts. The energy difference between the Kai and him is interesting. They all have a lot of energy, but the Kai seem to focus it on running around and playing and Kaiju seems to focus it on causing trouble and humping. lol

He mos def has a "stud muffin" vibe.

  • lol... I guess that answers my question in Ritsu's thread. :)

He is absolutely adorable... And I can see how his ears might be mistaken for horns... What a little trouble maker!
  • Wow brad, he is gorgeous. I would be interested down the road to see his lines. I am getting a Shikoku female this coming year and if all her health testing passes I want to try a litter one day (I breed and raise Shiba's and am working adding two Shikoku's top my pack)
  • This little dude looks awesome!!! And judging from that last photo, he has loads of attitude! Let's see if he isn't writing checks he can't cash...
  • I'm happy to share his pedigree with the forum once I have it.

    The videos are finally up...

You can see he is a typical reactive jerk-of-a Shikoku.

  • Oh, and yes, that is Kumi and she is VERY fat right now. Our bad.

Who's the other Shikoku in the video?
  • edited December 2010
That's Corina's new import. He stayed here for a few days while they visited.
  • Wow the shikokus are very nice. You will have a handfull with Kaiju, he does seem really a MAN :))))

Brad, he is very good looking! And yes, Shikoku are really LOUD when they play. Actually, in my house, Kuma is really, really loud and Sachi is quieter but more relentless. He looks like a super addition!

And humping seems to be a popular Shikoku puppy activity. Sachi did it nonstop to Kuma when she was that age... ;-)
  • I met Kaiju, Ritsu and Shuran a few days before Corina made the trip out. Kaiju is a monster. He reminds me of Kage. It was funny seeing them interact with Shoushuu and Kotomi. They could only take so much of them then they would have to get the heck out of there. I've got some vid I took too. I'll post them soon
  • I'm hoping to meet Corina soon, since she is very close to my area! Can't wait to meet my first shikas~ :P
  • Here is Kaiju's reaction to the other dogs being fed...

  • A frustrated Shikoku results in a high pitched barking shikoku....ask me how I know ;-)
  • lol @Edgewood... Kris, the same thing happens with a frustrated Shiba. :)
  • He's gorgeous! When I was watching the Kai army vids, I was thinking, hmmm....is that a little Shikoku? (simply because it didn't look like any other NK I could think of!) He is so cute I can't stand it!!
  • Funny thing is that kaiju translates to English roughly as "big beast". This is a term more used for the Godzilla and similar monster movies. Awesome dog though.
